Clive Bibby: Balanced reporting - a lost art but a growing scandal

I wonder how long it will take the NZ Main Stream Media to report the latest findings of Special Counsel John Durham’s investigations into the activities of US political parties leading up to and following the inauguration of President Donald Trump in 2017.

Last Friday Durham published his latest provisional report which makes explosive reading for all who might be concerned about the criminal activities of those opposed to the Trump Presidency - the bulk of the MSM, the Democratic Party governing body and the Hillary Clinton Presidential Campaign Committee.

Let’s be clear about the main points of what his investigations actually found.

After having successfully stolen the Democrat Party nomination from Bernie Sanders in the lead up to the 2016 US Presidential election, the Clinton Campaign Committee then bought the deliberately manufactured Steele dossier which was designed to implicate the Trump family and other associates with charges that they were in collusion with Russia. This later became known as “The Russian collusion” which became the subject of various other Special Counsel investigations during the Trump Presidency.

The allegations of conspiracy contained in the, as yet not discredited, Steele dossier were then used by US government security agents in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to obtain search and surveillance warrants that allowed them to spy on the Trump Campaign leading up to the election and on members of the new administration including the President and his family when they became resident in the Whitehouse.

Interestingly, this account of numerous corrupt practices has since been partially corroborated by other credible witnesses including senior members of the Democratic Party including Donna Brazille who was chairman at the time.

These crooks almost succeeded in their attempt at overturning the election result with the aid of the heads of all three of the government security agencies (FBI, CIA and the Justice Department) providing false testimony under oath during the following congressional hearings. Unbelievable.

Durham’s investigations have established without doubt that this cabal of government servants and political activists deliberately tried to sabotage not only the election result itself but when that failed, tried to besmirch the rest of the Trump presidency with a smear of illegitimacy that plagued the Republican Party and Government until its defeat in 2020.

Yet the response to these findings in the world MSM, including those in this country, is to sweep it all under the carpet as if it never happened.

Well, they will only be able to do that for so long - until the November US mid term elections when a Republican congressional majority in both houses will re introduce further investigations that will surely result in some pretty high profile Democrats ending up behind bars.

Who knows - we might yet be seeing an exodus of those guilty of these crimes through the “open all hours” southern border during the next few months.

Oh, the irony if that were to happen.
