It's great and amazing that you can articulate what we all think with a great little picture. Love the rats, they might have been looking for their brothers and sisters on the committee.

There is certainly an element of farce with Select Committees. Where more than a hundred or so individual submissions it is very unlikely all Committee members reasonably read all. Maybe the submissions from major organisations or important identities. Despite these often just attempts to curry favour. The main reason for appearing is to force at least some of the Committee to at least glance through. They all declare they have read..... I suspect most Committees just read through the summaries by some lackey, whose personal bias and eye to advancement cannot help but shape attitude. It is annoying that everyone involved is on $100,000 pa plus but a submitter can spend a week of valuable time and no one of significance ever actually reads directly.
Can shoot yourself in the foot. Re the recent Inquiry into RNZ Charter I protested the extent of pro maori propaganda and te reo on RNZ, and noted this despite that the Charter did not specifically provide for. The outcome...it was recommended that the Charter be expanded to encourage more maori twaddle... You can guarantee this will be in wily Willie's Charter for the public Media Broadcasting organisation. Combined with the inevitable maori Board chairman, if you are still an RNZ listener, brace youself.
