In a mindbogglingly inane contributory NZ Herald article Rob Campbell, chairman of Auckland’s casino (among other sinecures) asks, “Who on earth is being hurt by co-governance?”. I’ll answer that by stating the obvious. We all are.
In a democracy the underlying principle is an equal value vote accorded every citizen, regardless of their intellectual differences, contribution to society, ethnicity, and so on.
It’s hard to think of a more disgraceful abuse of this principle than according 50% of governance to an ethnic group that makes up a mere 2% of the population, that is citizens with 50% or more of maori ethnicity. It’s not bloody hard Rob.
Being fashionably trendy about fictitious maori wonderfulness will be the principal reason (among many others) the government will be decimated in the next election.

Totally agree Sir Rob but will we be in a better position with Luxon at the head of the beast? Will he be any better than the abominal Ardern? Is he, too, influenced by Schwab?
Well said...Rob Campbell fails to appreciate that he is sucking up to the wrong people if he wants to continue to have cushy jobs in the future.
Totally agree. Anyone claiming to be a Maori should have to prove that they have at least 51% Maori blood, other wise they are not. Very simple to do with the DNA testing available today. Utterly sick of a stone age tribal system with no written language , wheel , pottery , justice by conquest , slavery etc bullshiting about the utopia they lived in. Kiwialan.
When co governace is more fully adopted it will be fully realised that it is actually maori control. Beacuse the maori bloc vote as one and at least one other, for various reasons, but especially to avoid cancellation, will side with. This has been very effectively demonstrated by disastrous Tupuna Maunga Authority in Auckland
