A lengthy dissertation and a lot to absorb. You are correct about it becoming increasingly evident in NZ life, but it's much the same throughout the West. Fortunately, the recent Posie Parker fiasco brought it to the fore and I think a lot of people who might have been reasonably okay with the alphabet "community" got put off by their clear militant/violent, intolerant and hypocritical attitude. They did themselves a big disservice and what with Marama Davidson's outrageous outburst, and the likes of Swarbrick's claim that it was a "celebration", the Greens also came out very poorly. Come this next election, I'm hoping this will all take more of a backseat, provided the woke Luxon gets reined in by Seymour.
In education I can see where intersectionality has been used as the basis for turning people into victims through their under achievement because of,apparently race. This is a glorious distraction from the main cause of failure which is the progressive educations defective teaching methods.
Progressive education, with its child-centered, constructivist, teach yourself ideas particularly disadvantages low SES students especially and crucially in the case of reading. High SES children have more supportive home situations. However if the teaching methods are traditional, direct,systematic, disciplined and sequential as in the past it has been shown,in many studies, the home environment has much less of an impact. This is why NZ had a reputation for its egalitarianism in the past which is directly related to the highest scores in literacy on international scores in reading.
Universal literacy, dismissed by progessives, greatly increases the chances for social mobility.
Progressive education introduced in about 1950, was introduced by the Labour government but admittedly supported by all subsequent parties.The ideologies of this destructive education is to be held responsible for our present appalling results in literacy and numeracy. These can can only get worse with the the curriculum biased toward cultural and sexual identity.
