Former Wairarapa District Health Board employee, Amanda Turner, may need to pay $20,000 to the NZ Health Authority after unsuccessfully challenging her dismissal in the Employment Court. She was fired in 2021 after “posting anti-vaccine information on Facebook”. The media report (below) that "the court judgement said the posts had caused staff at the aged residential care facility [where she worked] to question whether they should be vaccinated against Covid-19 ... The posts were not considered or balanced discussions but involved memes & strongly worded statements or allegations against individuals & groups”. For example, “Turner attaches a post from the Government’s Unite Against COVID-19 page and writes: “The injection is not “free” the taxpayers of NZ ARE paying for it! I’m glad the word voluntary is used, so we can decline the injection.”
Gosh, to save me from being fired, DownToEarthKiwi better not quote Milton Friedman that "there is no such thing as a free lunch", as well as former Finance Minister Roger Douglas who keeps reminding me that when politicians say something is "free" they're not telling the truth. In the case of Covid, we're paying for it now with the cost-of-living crisis, much of which was caused by excessive public spending & borrowing, as well as money printing. Ms Turner spoke the truth on that one. But it didn't stop her from being fired and didn't stop our judiciary from siding with "Unite Against COVID", which was a political campaign.

The book What the Nurses Saw by Ken McCarthy features interviews with nurses who worked in the killing fields of US hospitals. An army veteran, Erin Marie Olszewski qualified and practised as a nurse in Florida. When New York became the American epicentre of Covid-19, she answered the urgent call for nurses from the city authorities. On arrival Olszewski was surprised to be boarded in a luxury hotel, having no work assigned but paid $10,000 weekly by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Clearly the crisis was not as bad as portrayed on the news.
Eventually Olszeswki was posted to a large public hospital, to find doctors and nurses following extraordinary and harmful protocols. Rather than a last resort, intubation to breathing machines was primary treatment. Andrew Cuomo, governor of New York, acted as medical dictator, ordering 30,000 ventilators. As paycheck employees following administrative policy, doctors abandoned their Hippocratic Oath, mistreating patients who walked into hospital but left via the morgue. Consent, so fundamental to healthcare, was reduced to doctors telling patients that their only chance of survival was mechanical ventilation.
Amanda Turner is a 'critical thinker' and was trying to sound a warning to her fellow travelers. Our Governments call critical thinking 'conspiracy theory', a deflecting strategy coined by the CIA after the assassination of JFK, when 'critical thinkers' began questioning their narrative of events.
We appear to have reached ‘peak corruption’ in a number of our institutions, consistent with the Covid campaign. Well done for publicising this latest nugget of injustice from our friendly health and legal folks.
Did not C Hipkins, when he was still PM, during the election campaign say that no one was FORCED to have the vaccine? So to me this means the vaccinations were voluntary!!!
