A pupil spat at the feet of Associate Education Minister David Seymour.
A United States official was forced to abandon her speech at Victoria University after it was disrupted by protesters.
These are just two of far too many examples that show bad manners and lack of respect now rule.
Too many people are unable, or unwilling, to engage in respectful discourse.
Too many people are unable, or unwilling, to allow other people to listen to views they oppose.
Too many people conflate their rights to do and say as they wish with permission to silence and cancel those who don’t agree with them.
Free speech is not just the right to speak, it’s the right to listen and it’s being undermined by bad manners and lack of respect.

I think the disruptionn of meetinga and addresses begins at school. It seems now fashionable for ethnic groups to vocalise support for their fellows. Whoever is in charge dares not run the risk of accusation of racial bias and consequent cancellation. The whistling and cat calling and shouting down gets out of hand and other groups adopt. The disruption tradiiton is carried to the extreme by stroppy maori women at public meetings. Embittered at not being able to monopolise at marae they infict their coarse venom on all and sundry.
No LAW equals No ORDER. No consequences equals more of the same.
