Associate Education Minister David Seymour wants cheaper school lunches for students that need it. Q+A asks him how effective the revamped programme could be and whether he will give schools the support they need to deliver it. Meanwhile, the first charter schools are expected to be up and running by Term 1 next year. Seymour says he's taking inspiration from England, where 80% of secondary schools are run under the academy programme, which has many similarities to New Zealand charter schools.

David Seymour is the Leader of ACT and a coaltion partner in the current National government. David is a graduate of Auckland Grammar and the University of Auckland (in Electrical Engineering and Philosophy).

Jack Tame was adamant that the Treaty Bill passage through Parliament was a waste of time because National would impede the bill and therefore the Bill would die .
Clearly that opinion is a nullity because a Citizens Initiated Referendum is legally possible and from my point of view entirely probable . ONLY 6500 signatures are required in each electorate for the 10 % of voters to be accomplished and to make a binding referendum be undertaken.

Problem with a Citizens referendum, the result is not is not necessarily binding. Think of the one about reducing MPs down to 99. Most people agreed but Parliament rejected it. Surprise, surprise!
