Ele Ludemann: What’s not said

The first of the hostages held by Hamas are being released as I write this.

The news that President Trump’s negotiation for a ceasefire and the release of the hostages had a mixed reception.

There has been joy and relief from their family, friends, supporters and a lot of people with no connection to them but who were appalled by the barbarism on October 7th and the inhumane treatment of the hostages.

With the celebrations for and with the 22 who will be free, there is sadness for the 1,200 who were killed on October 7th; those on both sides who have been killed in the war; and all the others who were taken hostage and are now dead.

And from almost all of those who have been so loudly calling for the war to end while ignoring the plight of the hostages and the barbaric acts that precipitated the war, there has been silence.

What’s not been said by them says a lot about them. It confirms their motivation was political not humanitarian.

For too many, deny it though they will, their motive was not just political in general and against Donald Trump in particular, it was, and continues to be, antisemitic.

The horrors of October 7th and the subsequent war are fresh, and the holocaust is still a living memory, but the bigotry and hatred towards people who happen to be Jewish continues.

There's a great deal that isn't 'said'.
Ask those robotic morons chanting 'from the river to the sea' which river and which sea they are on about and most won't be able to answer because they haven't got a clue.
Ask them today what the 20 points of the Trump peace plan are and you'll be lucky to get half a dozen because they haven't got a clue.
"We demand a ceasefire that wasn't arranged by Donald Trump" - Ye Gods! What fantastic delusion is at work here? Certainly a case of massive self-aggrandisement if ever there was one.
But at least it tells us what we already knew: that these 'protestors' couldn't care a rat's arse about the Palestinian people.

Not sure if Ms Ludemann is aware of this, but 'Titania McGrath' is a parody account by the Irish comedian Andrew Doyle. So it's making the same point as Ms Ludemann is via the common comic strategy of exaggeration.....

Well, I certainly didn't know that, Anon 952. Thanks for the update. Mind you, my comments above stand, comedian's parody notwithstanding.

Only this morning at a team meeting did I have to sit through a vitriolic tirade against the US commander and Chief.
What bought it on?
A question in a trivia quizz we sometime do for "team building", that had something to do with Trump.
Barend Vlaardingerbroeks certainly do stand.
There are really people out there with no brains who hate just for the sake of hate.

I think Ms Ludemann's case would be stronger had she quoted something that someone had actually said sincerely / in good faith. Titania has been around for a while.
