How sad it is to be missing out on the delightful custom of rubbing noses with a fat, half caste that blames you for every misfortune that has ever befell him/her.
Waitangi day is a farce. A day for attention seeking, money hungry and greedy, manipulative Maori elite who rebel against the evils of colonisation. Where we find out - once again - how the Crown has failed Maori with its education and health policies A day wrecked by absolute losers who insult and abuse visitors.
Entertainment apart from the obvious, (the whole thing is a circus) is the all encompassing war dance, where the fattest of the tribe with undies made of string challenges the guests - you see one you've seen them all.
The brutal reality is that Waitangi Day is linked to the Treaty of Waitangi which in turn has become a vehicle for complaining groups demanding special rights and never ending amounts of money from the public purse. All Maori today are descended from the settlers to some degree and their forefathers deserve thanks rather than the drummed up narrative developed by many radicals and academics with an agenda based on lies.
The Treaty has done Its job and it's time to move on.
The Treaty of Waitangi still exists, legally, no one disputes that but its original purpose has been fulfilled.
It was created to establish sovereignty, protect land rights, and define citizenship. That work is done.
So why do Maori want to keep it alive?
Over time it has been reinvented, it has been turned into a supposed “partnership” and “governance framework” - things that appear nowhere in the original texts. These ideas are modern inventions and were never agreed to in 1840. The original English draft , the Busby/Littlewood makes the intent clear - one country, one law, equal citizenship which is why Maori try and discredit it.
The modern interpretation allows the courts to manipulate laws, demand special treatments and pressure the Government for financial gain and ultimately to gain governance.
If New Zealand is serious about unity, democracy, and fairness, it must recognise that the Treaty’s historical mission is complete.
Graeme Spencer is a staunch New Zealander who believes in racial equality and one law for all.

One of the greatest hoaxes in history.
"Why do Maori want to keep it alive?". I feel we should be saying"Why do politicians want to keep it alive?". They are supposed to represent us, the people who voted them into office. The workers, the tax-payers, the small business owners who don't want our money going towards this theatrical nonsense followed by huge payouts. We seem to be regressing, going back to the primitive, rather than progressing to our greatest potential as a country. It's very strange alright.
I sincerely hope The Treaty Principles Bill legislation is once again included in ACTS coalition negotiations with National. Will Luxon say again he doesn’t support it? But Luxon wants a Government formed by Christmas!
Luxon will not accept any form of disrupting the treaty.just look at his body language when david was speaking at waitangi on thursday!it's a must see ,all with Winston!

Luxon could have made it a day to declare that we were all equal, the Treaty stands as it was written and intended, there will be no co-governance by a few Maori over every NZer.
Nope, Luxon doesn't have the foresight to see the damage he is doing.
It's a situation that is only to become worse under his poor "leadership ".
Why do New Zealanders want to keep it alive? You’d have to get out of your comfort zone and talk to some regular everyday kiwis, not just resentful keyboard warriors. There are a lot of good people in this country standing up for our rights and demanding that we honour the treaty.
