Is Chris Hipkins missing a gene?
Does he have a self-destructive predilection? Or is he just a pillock by nature?
He rolls into Auckland to tell the nation's biggest city and engine room in election year that she's all good and everyone has moved on from the lockdowns. His lockdowns.
The home handyman from the Hutt, telling Auckland what's what.
What an arrogant twat.
He was in Auckland to build rapport, to patch up the damage, to scope the joint and to see what sort of chance his party has come November.
Love or hate Auckland, elections are won and lost in the city. No one gets to Government without a good day in Auckland.
Even for a small country it is true to say there are countries within countries, or cultures and vibes within cultures and vibes.
It took me a while to get a grip on Wellington before I moved there. It's different to Christchurch. It's different to Dunedin, and Auckland is different to each of the other urban centres.
I think Chris Bishop has found that out by suggesting his two million home debacle. He's from Wellington too. If you are too entrenched in Wellington, you don’t get Auckland.
Hipkins suggested the only people who ever ask him about lockdown these days is Newstalk ZB.
1) That’s not true and yesterday was an example given the person who asked wasn’t from Newstalk ZB.
2) Newstalk ZB is the biggest game in Auckland and by a long way.
Dismissing the biggest radio player in Auckland, and the country, is about as stupid as saying Aucklanders have moved on from lockdown.
Ultimately, it's another example of why I have said all year that this election is over before it starts.
Labour will not win.
The pain, suffering and incompetence of 2020-23 is still too raw, real and recent to forgive and forget. Making it worse is the fact the very same people who did the damage are still there waiting for another crack.
Judging by yesterday, they’ve learned nothing, want to learn nothing and are as arrogant as last time.
Hipkins may well realise that, come election night when he loses and inevitably has to resign given he will have lost twice.

I wouldn't be too confident that Labour will loose the next election. The msm is already electioneering for Labour, the Greens and TPM. Luxon is the very person to snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Abd all Hipkins needs to do is make Winston a better offer than National.
There will be many people who suffered from forced jabs who will not forget. Some even died. This is not rumour as ACC paid out for the injuries.
Mike its not just that he's a ' arrogant twat' as you say. He's actually worse than that , he's an 'incompetent arrogant twat'. Although he's the leader of a party full of incompetents, it gets far worse the more left you move.
This country will get what it deserves come election time.
Are your bags packed?
Chuck, the public record shows the COVID vaccination is likely to have caused the death of TWO New Zealanders, both from myocarditis. Bad for the victims sure, but pretty good news for society, considering the millions of doses administered and the thousands of Kiwis who didn't die from COVID as a result. And by the way, it is a statistical fact that COVID causes more cases of myocarditis than the vaccine causes. Seems like a fantastic outcome to me.
Let’s get the facts right. ACC has now paid out seventeen million dollars for vaccine injuries. The Coroners have ruled six people died from the vaccines. If you think that’s a ‘fantastic’ result you must be a moron.
To anon 11.56 am
Public record as in the most transparent government ever? And the one source of truth? 😂
Chuck have you caught up with the news from 5 years ago about all those thousands of people dying from Covid and Covid complications? You’ll be shocked.
Do you not beleive in informed consent? Do you believe everything from the one source of truth that Comrade Ardern and Hipkins claimed was?
Chuck. Do you really believe you are capable of giving informed consent on a matter you have absolutely no knowledge about . Sometimes you have to face up to your own ignorance and do what you are told to do by the experts. And Adern and Hipkins had access to the best public health advice available. So where do you get your advice from Chuck? Why should I risk my life doing what you say is the truth and ignore the people who have spent thir professional careers studying the subject?
The anti-Jacinda brigade are a toxic mix of misogynists and anti-vaxxers. Healthy people look forward, the unhealthy fixate on perceived misgivings, in most cases amplified by the Russian disinformation from the covid era.
Labour nipped inflation in the bud, and National has done nothing since but raise unemployment and crash the economy.
Following Anon 2.0's plea to get the facts straight, I located a publicly available ACC report from July 2025 that confirmed they had paid out $14,948,677 to settle 1,769 claims for COVID vaccination-related injury since February 2021. Not quite the $17 million as claimed by Anon 2.0, but more about that below.
That report also says 5 deaths were connected to COVID vaccination claims, again not quite the number claimed by Anon 2.0. However even if s/he has more up-to-date data than me, the conclusion is unchanged. It's still a fantastic result.
And that's for a reason any moron can discern. Since Health New Zealand report that currently, over 14 million doses have been administered, the chance of death from any one jab is only 5 in 14 million.
Looks pretty good odds by anyone's standards, given the far greater chance of death from virtually any other cause, including of course, the COVID virus itself, and COVID induced myocarditis.
The amount spent by ACC is also good news. The cost to the economy of potential COVID deaths would be far greater than 15 (or 17) million dollars paid out by ACC. And that's before you add on the cost of hospital treatments avoided by the vaccination; in pragmatic terms ACC has paid a cheap insurance premium against a potentially vastly greater loss to the nation.
And look at the numbers. Only 1,769 injuries after 14 million doses! That's a fantastic result as well. So, thank you for pointing us to the facts Anon 2.0. Lets hope we come off as well next time there is a pandemic.
Jones Boy. You seen to view Comrade Ardern as an expert. We had a PM who did not know what GDP stood for? We have an spiring PM who could not say what a woman is when asked by Sean Plunket.
Jonesy seems to have a great deal of faith in 'experts' but 'experts' have turned out to have been wrong many times. I'm sure Jonesy realises that people like Pasteur were up against the 'experts' of the day, who turned out to be wrong.
The Covid-19 pandemic showed how widely 'experts' can disagree among themselves. And they are not yet quite fully agreed as to who was more 'right' than the others.
There is a strong sociological element to groups of 'experts' which is that they are esoteric elites membership of which depends on the approval of the members. Whether you are 'right' or 'wrong' is a secondary consideration.
Bartender, spot on. Perfectly stated. Most people only exhibit confirmation bias, in order to promote their agenda. We have to look at both sides of the equation.
Not so long ago, these same experts (doctors) use to prescribe cigarettes for stress relief.
Barend, are you seriously suggesting the witterings of armchair experts are in the same league as Louis Pasteur et al? Sure, we all know about the heroic individuals who triumped over the status quo. All good David and Goliath stuff. What we never hear about is the lonely lives of all those self-proclaimed experts who simply got it wrong and faded into history. But ultimately everybody is judged by their results, including Pasteur, and right now the clinical data shows the experts made the right call on the need for compulsory nation-wide vaccination, and the politicians made the right call to follow ther advice. The thousands of Kiwis who didn't die as a result would undoubtedly agree.
'Armchair experts' can be quite perceptive, Jonesy. Stephen Hawking was one. But more to the point, 'experts' are laymen outside their narrow field of expertise. The issue of compulsory vaccination raises legal and ethical questions that are outside the orb of a medical 'expert'.
What about the thousands of medical staff , who got themselves exempted from the vax on condition they shut up. What did they know we were never told ? Since the vax. our hospitals have become overloaded with sick people with all sorts of illness and disorders A family member had carditis after each of his vax. but doctors refused to acknowledge it was related to the vax. More and more studies from reputable sources are producing evidence that the vax. caused enormous numbers of injuries . Countries are suing Pfizer. Read Waikanae Watch to gain another perspective , for those dyed in the wool pro vax.
