NZCPR Weekly: Defend Your Beach

Dear NZCPR Reader,

In this week’s newsletter we provide an important update on the coastal claims process and urge concerned Kiwis to take a stand – before it’s too late, our NZCPR Guest Commentators Dr Hugh Barr and John McLean outline why the new Minister, Andrew Little, needs to review the former Minister’s decision to award a Customary Marine Title, and in this week’s poll we ask whether you believe there needs to be a public information campaign to inform people how to become engaged in the marine and coastal area claims process.

Defend your Beach?
The question now arises “Are those beaches, access to waterways’ really Ours” ??. By saying “Ours” it seems quite an obvious fact that they are not; or are not going to be in the future of this country.
I agree that we have to resist what is an undemocratic takeover, but successive Governments have indicated and committed this country; its people as a whole to this policy. Without informing us, or giving us all the right to approve or reject that Maori are special, and are entitled to separate treatment. In doing this they have rejected the rights of the many, for a type of absolutism by a minor sector of our population.
They have in this policy, the backing of the world’s greatest bureaucratic dictatorial organisation ever formed by mankind on this Planet. Genghis Khan fades into insignificance, as does Lenin’s Communism which this organisation aspires to emulate.
A pound to a penny our present Labour Government will continue National’s dividing policy regarding Maori claims, oral or those re-written to suit whatever is demanded.
Ouotation
“The liberties of a people never were, nor ever will be, secure when the transactions of their rulers may be concealed from them.”
