An advert plays incessantly on the radio telling me that "Wearing a mask is an act of intentional kindness."
An intention cannot be ascribed to an action by a third party. How does the creator of this advert know why I am wearing a mask?
If I go into the supermarket maskless I will be asked to don one or leave. So I take my own. It is an act of resentful compliance. I resent the rule, the enforcer of the rule and worse, myself for complying.
Every time I hear the ad these angry feelings are reinforced.
My strategy for dealing with unwanted emotion is to rationalize. What if the ad said, "Be kind, wear a mask" which at least eliminates the absurd idea that someone else can live in my head and know my thoughts. But what is kind about wearing a mask? I'm not a surgeon. I have no illness and even if I did, isn't sharing germs part of how we have existed together for eons?
Perhaps the rational response is to understand the message in its inversion, "If you don't wear a mask people will think you are cruel and uncaring."
That I think is what's really going on.
We've had five f------g years of this 'be kind' guilt-tripping propaganda shoved down our throats and everywhere you look the results are crippled systems and crippled people.
Now I'm getting confused over what it is to be genuinely kind. Maskless, I gave a girl some money the other day. Broke my own rule. She said she wanted to get a feed. I checked she had a roof over her head at night and some sort of support system and then gave her $20. Maybe she'll go and buy a bottle of wine or whatever it takes to get off her face but why shouldn't she enjoy a few hours escapism? I'd like a few myself but my meagre daily alcohol ration makes that an impossible option.
Perhaps I should have walked up to this kid and said, "Excuse me. Where is your mask? You do know that it's an act of intentional kindness to wear one, don't you?"

Lindsay, here's my tip. I regularly make use of the favourite button in my car when the ads come on - the MUTE BUTTON.
I love it. Never used it before Covid but now it's my best friend and keeps me sane. I'm sure I would have had an accident by now because those patronising Covid ads drive me nuts.
Now I hit MUTE and hum to myself, trying to guess when the next song will be played.
Where I live they've given up enforcing face-mask wearing in all supermarkets and shops. The only place you still have to is the Library - bloody woke council!
I take great delight in pulling mine off after I've got the book I want and walking out through the library. The occasional hard stare and tut-tut from one of the annoying lady librarians makes it all the more worthwhile.
Nice to know it’s not just me that resents these adverts with a passion. The fact that we tax and rate payers (Tauranga City Council also runs constant adverts) are paying for this condescending, patronising rubbish drives me nuts. I’ve got to find that MUTE button!
I have not worn a mask since the initial total lock-down. Logic dictated that I should not have to do so. After all, the majority are triple jabbed which is supposed to protect them. I am not jabbed at all, so my immune system has not been compromised. And I prefer to inhale my breath only once.
Took very little time to sort out the lunch bars who let one in regardless, & have yet to be told to leave our local supermarket. So life goes on as normal, for me anyway. Why do the people believe a word that comes from the mouth of their Communist/Globalist Leader when they can't give an example of her having spoken the truth.?

Yes, the perfect reason for never filling in a Govt form honestly. The day I finally get caught up with, I'll say exactly that... When a politician does what they said they would, I'll sign your form honestly.."
I have only worn a mask twice in 2.5 years. I rarely have any difficulty going unmasked. Its important to make a stand by being unmasked. As to MSM - I rarely listen to, watch or read it. Its 90% toxic propaganda. There are loads of excellent alternative media outlets to enjoy now.
I have not worn a mask since the beginning of this year. I will not wear one. I am not jabbed and have not had Covid. My age 79!
I haven't worn a mask at all at any time. Everyone is jabbed and masked so what's the point? I haven't been sick at all and have been challenged only once, wherupon I pulled my scarf over my face, briefly.
I'm 75 and resent being used by the govt at the start of this charade to strip people of their freedom to choose and their jobs. Then we were forgotten and travelling became the aim!
What amuses me is that we are constantly told that 400ppm Co2 is killing the Earth, but breathing back in the 35000-50000ppm Co2 in every breath, along with expelled baceria and diminished oxygen is going to keep me healthy????!!!! It pains the brain.
When are people going to use their brains and stop falling for these guilt tripping, money and sanity stealng scams?
