Invercargill judge tells man there’s no point in playing ‘colonisation card’
A judge has told a man there was no point playing the “colonisation card” as people ultimately made their own luck in life.

The cultural report outlined Maclean’s Maori heritage and his desire to engage with his culture, Williamson said.

Judge Brandts-Giesen said the defendant was the product of two cultures, Scottish and Maori.

He said New Zealand was full of people of mixed ethnicity.

“Somehow or other we need to rub together and live lives which are productive, where we co-operate with each other, where we compete with each other but we don’t do terrible things to each other.....

An Unequal Partnership: Māori Stood down at Twice the Rate of Pākehā
Official stand-down rates show Māori are stood down at twice the rate of Pākehā; experts say the statistic is yet another signifier of breaches in Te Tiriti in our education system.

The rate for Māori is almost five percent, whereas for Pākehā students the rate sits at 2.5 percent. Lower-decile schools report higher rates of stand-downs than high-decile schools. Notably, kura kaupapa schools rarely use stand-downs as a form of punishment, meaning this inequality is manifest in mainstream schools......

Taken with the huge change of direction in education (John Porter below) the election of a maori president to the Pricipals Federation just compounds the horror. I wonder who else stood and who voted. I trust voting was truly secret so fear of cancellation did not prevail.

RE New Secondary Education Curriculum

This starts now ( Term 1 2023 on for 4 years.)

Now input will be requested - after this has started.

So, no major change likely. Just window dressing.

Labour's strategy is light years ahead of National.

Re 2nd. The Invercargill judge is risking his career dissing "colonisation" as the cause of all part/trace maori offending. I have considered giving up contributing to BV and instead seeking a career writing sob letters for crims. Incidentally I have just one conviction; riding a bike no hands: 1962, 30s, equivalent a staggering $150 today. I would willingly do two weeks in gaol for $3800, provided I could take some Bob Jones books and retain access to BV.

With maori running specific courses for takeover, little wonder the public services are permeated with the pro maori cult. Luxon has much to reverse. I trust he has begun plotting.

What a sad little 3rd world country nz is turning into with all our taxpayer money going into all this ninsense, 5 waters and co-governance. No wonder we have pot holed roads, slips, no health care, can't afford to fix the drains in akl so it floods etc. What on earth are they doing with our tax money? If groups such as maori iwi want to break off from society and have their own laws etc then don't expect nz taxpayers to fund it.

For Robert Authur

What details do you have for takeover courses?
e.g. where these run?

Anonymous said...

PS Takeover courses
I think you may mean - or include - cultural training for councils members,
certain education hubs etc

The Ministry can provide qualified kamatua for any of your needs.
One is listed with the Board of the Sec School Principals
