Cam Slater: Oh, So Now You Are Interested in Human Rights?

Without even a shred of shame, David Seymour spoke at Waitangi about preserving universal human rights. So, apparently, now David Seymour is interested in universal human rights, freedom, and equality.

Well, I’m sorry David, are you wanting us to forget just how little you cared about universal human rights, or even our own Bill of Rights when you voted in lockstep with everything the Ardern regime did to abrogate the very rights that you supposedly hold dear?

Where were you when forced medical procedures were visited upon us with vaccine mandates?

Where were you when police brutally smashed the universal human rights of freedom of association and freedom of speech?

We saw you then, and we see you now. You are nothing but a shabby hypocrite.

Worse, you are saying all these things and expecting that we will forget what you did and said in the past.

You are no more committed to protecting those universal human rights now than you were then when you allowed our rights to be trampled through your silence.

In case you forget here are the rights that you stayed silent over:

The right not to be subjected to torture or cruel treatment: How else other than cruel can MIQ ever be described? Involuntary incarceration in your own country, subjected to invasive tests to allow release. It is also arguable that the segregation of society between the unvaccinated and the vaccinated, and forbidding the unvaxxed from participating in society, often costing them jobs, careers and businesses in the process, was also cruel and unusual punishment. Yet you said NOTHING.

The right not to be subjected to medical or scientific experimentation: Here you weren’t silent. You wanted forced vaccinations, door to door… for a vaccine that has proven to be neither safe nor effective. Where were you on this universal human right? Missing in action is where.

The right to refuse to undergo medical treatment: Again you were donkey-deep on this, even disparaging people like me in numerous social media posts. It was our universal human right to refuse treatment, yet you wanted compulsion and restrictions on us. Your commitment to this human right is found wanting too.

The right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion: Another right you ignored as people shared vital information about the truth of the vaccines. Your silence condemns you.

The right to freedom of expression: You were hand in hand with the Ardern regime in silencing dissent. You showed no commitment to that right.

The right to freedom of peaceful assembly: You were nowhere to be seen during the parliament protest, where the jackbooted thugs of Ardern’s regime visited extreme violence on the peaceful protestors. You neither spoke to them nor listened to anything they had to say as you cowered behind Ardern’s skirts and were cowed by Trevor Mallard. This was extreme cowardice from you, the man who claims to stand for universal human rights.

Freedom of Association: Your denigration of protestors and opponents of the vaccine mandates shows your commitment to this right was as missing in action as all the others you’ve singularly ignored.

Freedom of Movement: This covers MIQ and artificial borders locking down Auckland more than any other city. Where were you? Nowhere is where.

Freedom from Discrimination: The vaccine passes were the worst example of discrimination, not only because they segregated society against other rights contained in the Bill of Rights, but also because it allowed businesses, friends and family, to discriminate against others. It was an appalling breach of our rights, and your only comment was that you’d be more efficient in stomping all over our rights.

Liberty of the person: Everyone has the right not to be arbitrarily arrested or detained. Yet you supported MIQ, said you’d be more efficient at detaining people, and supported the lockdowns that deprived every person of their liberty.

David Seymour: you have no more commitment to protecting our rights than anyone from the Ardern/Hipkins regime. You mouth empty words from an empty head. You are a fraud and a charlatan.

You speak and act like the political weasel you are.

We saw you then, and we see you now. You have a cheek to mouth platitudes about rights now. You are undeserving of any support if you can’t in deeds match the words that vomit forth from your lying mouth.

Be gone.

Somewhat over the top. Would be good to know how you would have dealt with the pandemic in the early stages. So easy to be wise now.

Mr Slater,
You are straining to make your case here. In each of the above circumstances Seymour acted reasonably.
Realistically, ACT is New Zealand’s only chance to roll back the Maori takeover which Ardern has enabled. The bigger the chunk of the party vote ACT wins, the better.
Who else would you suggest we vote for? One of the nutty anti-vaccers or single-issue obsessives? Wasted votes!
The voting booth is not the place for self-indulgence.
Get real, is what I’m saying.

In recent times I think that Cam Slater aligns more with Winston Peters and I view this article in that light.

Like so many people, Mr Slater exhibits a simplistic all-or-nothing view of human rights. But ALL human rights may have limits put on them by lawful authorities. I agree with the tone of first two of the above commentators.

Without Seymour pushing National to get rid of the racist policies Labour are forcing on us Luxon will only be Ardern lite, he is a true treatyist without the guts to stand up to the Maori radicals. It made me cringe when he apologetically promised to learn a stone age language to use in our modern world. Kiwialan.

Mr Slater is correct. The only right Mr Seymour has fought for is the right for New Zealanders to kill themselves. Expecting anything good from this charlatan would be expecting too much.
