The Herald reported:
national Māori Development minister Tama Potaka has defended prime minister Christopher Luxon's absence from the national hui-ā-iwi at Ngāruawāhia, where many speakers have attacked the new coalition government's policies towards Māori.
He also described claims by speakers that the Government was underpinned by white supremacy as ‘premature' and said he did not believe that.
Seven out of 20 ministers are Māori, or 35%, and people think this is white supremacy – having three times as many Māori as their share of the adult population.
Wouldn't it be nice if one could actually discuss different views on the treaty, without ridiculous insults.

I would hope MPs represent the entire population, not merely adults. Māori comprise 17% of NZ's total population, and so on your figures twice rather than three times as many.
I wonder how claims that are seriously detached from reality can survive. Maybe there is some element of truth in it - a clumsily expressed genuine concern about a deeper problem. Or maybe it’s just TPM whipping up a storm.
Just another example of Maori arrogance.
Let's get something straight!
35% of Government MPs claiming some percentage of Maori blood does not mean the Government is 35% Maori
I doubt those attending the truck-driver's hooey could muster 35% Maori heritage.
Start telling the truth: New Zealand's population sports the blood of almost every race in the world - to the extent that a future scientist could, upon DNA testing, call the people of these shores a separate race all together.
Let the truck-driver and his hooey mates worry about bloodlines, the rest of us can practice being human.
Its how the left work.
When incapable of articulating an argument, they resort to abuse, protest, threats and name calling. It works, the media eat it up.
Nice one Tinman. A very practical description of NZers.
