Talbot Mills, Labour’s own pollster, has released a word cloud to its corporate clients about what people think of Chris Hipkins. It’s not flash, with the biggest words being “unsure” and “weak”.
Labour leader Chris Hipkins has reacted to new research revealing what New Zealanders think of him as a person.
The research survey, conducted by Talbot Mills Research, asked Kiwis what words came to mind when they think of the former Prime Minister.
The different coloured words are then put together to create a ‘word cloud’, with the size of the word depending on how often it was used.
“The two big ones in the middle are ‘weak’ and ‘unsure’, what do you make of that?” AM host Lloyd Burr asked.
Hipkins responded: “Well I’m the leader of the opposition, so I guess the reality is I’m not going to be making a lot of decisions that make me look particularly strong at the moment.”
“That is the nature of the job that I have. I’m kind of providing a running commentary about what the Government of the day are doing rather than, necessarily at this point in the election cycle, being able to talk about what we would do differently.”
He admitted “a lot of people haven’t made up their mind” about him as a person as a result of the situation.
Other negative words include ‘socialist’, ‘soft’ and ‘useless’.

Talk about deluded. Fancy saying “a lot of people haven’t made up their mind”.
Hello, newsflash Chippy, we did; it was called an election, and we did make up our minds and it was to pick anyone but you.
We also saw that you were a Police minister at a time of rampant violent crime, a Health minister presiding over a disastrous health sector, an Education minister when more kids were absent from school than in school, and we mustn’t forget your appalling performance as the Covid minister. We saw your nastiness, your callousness, and your authoritarian instincts as you trampled on people’s rights.
Yeah, we know you, and the two words that aren’t in the word cloud that spring to mind are “loser” and “dork”.

Hipkins would do the New Zealand electoral scene a great service by exiting stage door left. Thus following in the path of his two " faithful " former disgraceful and deceitful colleagues - Ardern and Robertson.
Lucky they didn't ask people like me, else the biggest, right in the middle, would be the c-word.
They forgot corrupted and racist as well as surreptitious. Kiwialan.
Lol, shame they didn't ask me either! I'd be interested if they did one for adern and gave everyone a chance to contribute not just the left loonies. I doubt it would make for good reading.
The damage done by this person in each of the ministries that he held is mind-blowing.
He should leave today - if he has any decency.
(PS Without asking permission from his mother.)
