The news media are nothing short of an unmitigated disgrace. They have proven themselves to be a national embarrassment. They don’t deal in reality; they inhabit their left-wing bunker, spout leftist rhetoric and seem to think we will just sit here and swallow it. Well, those of us who, unlike the media, do our research and follow reputable news outlets are aware of the reality and see the BS we are being fed.

One might well ask why?
Simple answer: Because all they know or have heard is what the NZ mainstream media has been feeding them.
The leftist media here gets its information from outlets in the US such as CNN, NY Times and Washington Post and it just fits their narrative.
You are never going to get anything remotely honest out of CNN. The fact that our media subscribe to these outlets tells you all you need to know. They are so immersed in their leftist propaganda that they just don’t care that they are leading their viewers/readers up the garden path.
Mainstream media has outlived its usefulness and is not in any way reflective of what is going on in the world.
Politically the world is moving right. Yet the MSM remains hunkered down in its left-wing bunker.
They are effectively presenting rhetoric that is way out of touch with the reality of what the people actually think, happily in denial of what is happening in the real world.
How can you be a proud member of what was once a profession if you exhibit this sort of disgraceful conduct?
So Harris is now unemployed. Perhaps she will join CNN or MSNBC.

If the NZ news media wants to be viewed as credible, they need to crawl out of their leftist bunker and rejoin the real world. You can hardly call yourself “mainstream” when you have removed yourself so far from the real mainstream.

Meanwhile we were repeatedly told ad nauseum how ‘close’ the election was, overlooking one critically important factor: the electoral college.
You can win the popular vote but lose the electoral college, as Hillary Clinton discovered in 2016. (Or you can lose them both, as Kamala Harris just discovered.) The media didn’t even attempt to paint a clear picture of what was really happening. They either didn’t know or deliberately chose to mislead the public – which, to be blunt – is becoming all too common.
Elon Musk, now identified as one of Donald Trump’s transitional team, predicted the mainstream media’s death knell during the campaign. He will no doubt be proven correct.
I see TVNZ are to disestablish another 50 jobs. They should put themselves out of their misery. This won’t be the last cut!

The NZ mainstream media are worse than their American counterparts.
For one thing, the American media are quite open about their political stance. CNN and MSNBC are openly left wing while Fox is openly conservative. It's the same with British newspapers. What they report is normally true, although not the whole truth. In NZ the media try to make out they are unbiased, that their content is objective, and if anyone who disagrees with them, then those people must be a "far right" white supremists. In truth the NZ media are neither unbiased, objective or truthful as the reporting of the recent poll on capital gains tax shows.
The left wing US papers will often criticize the Democrats and woke organizations. Fox often criticizes Republicans. In comparison, the NZ media act as a mouthpiece for the Greens and TPM, and used to do that for Jacinda. Whenever they can't help reporting adverse news about people like Golriz Ghahraman or Tori Whanau they try to make everyone feel sorry for them.
The NZ MSM would often print articles by the left wing, Washington Post. I recall the Washington Post was critical of the many murders carried out by Black Lives Matters protestors, and the hypocrisy. An editorial asked whether black lives matter only when a white policeman is involved? Naturally none of this was printed in NZ and most people here don't even know about the murders.

The most consequential election in our lifetime took place this week. Those of us who are uncontaminated by left wing propaganda witnessed the death of the Marxist revolution. It was killed stone dead in its tracks. I watched with mounting excitement as Fox delivered the results of the greatest and most courageous comeback we have ever seen. The following day I broke with tradition, thinking it safe to watch TV 1 news covering the previous days election results. What an abomination of distorted venom spewing from a vengeful MSM. Talk about the enemy within, it was a salient reminder of how badly the NZ public is served by this Marxist mouthpiece.

I too switched over to 1 News leading up to the election and heard how close it was, and during the election it was kamala this , kamala that and how terrible Trump is. 1 news showed the USA ambassador house in wgtn and only interviewed democrats advising how terrible Trump was and telling everyone there was no support for Trump. Again how wrong were the msm.
There are bits in Stuff with psychologists advising how to deal with a Trump presidency. Really? I'm sure in this woke Marxist country the far left aided by their toxic msm buddies will be in tears at the psychologists office wondering how and why it's crumbling around them. They won't take any responsibility of course for their predicament or self reflect.
