It's hard to work out what's bigger, this rort, or Drysdale's (and his Council's) naivety. There is an election coming, one hopes the local ratepayers will get to have their say.
And we continue to hand over our ‘sweat equity’ to this corporate crime syndicate masquerading as central and local government, whose corporate agenda is to replace democracy with ethnocracy and create an apartheid state paradise.
All those past and present who are involved in this "co-governance/partnership" endeavor are traitors to New Zealand.
The last Tauranga City Council election was on Saturday, 20 July 2024. The next election is scheduled for 2028 !!!
As our coalition is allowing this this situation, we can probably safely say that Luxon is quite happy to allow co-governance arrangements like this by our errant Councils to continue unabated. Honestly, what is the point of striving for a viable economy when this kind of misbehaviour and misappropriation of ratepayers' hard earned is allowed to continue? Surely Luxon cannot be this asleep at the wheel? I can believe it of his current choice of Local Govt Minister but maybe that is part of Luxon's contribution to full Maori control by 2040 as per Hey Pooh-a-pooha?

You are correct, anon@7.18, they are, indeed, traitors. I forgot @6.03 that the hapless ratepayers of Tauranga, will have to wait another three years to have their say.
Ask the people by referendum (local and national) ..... the result gives them time to leave before the final assault on their hard earned assets.
Unfortunately Tauranga doesn’t get another local body election until 2028. Drysdale and his council gave little indication of their intentions prior to the last election when the commissioners appointed by Nanaia Mahuta were replaced by the present elected incumbents. They have no mandate for the things they’ve been doing, including appointing unelected maori representatives to committees - and giving them voting rights to boot. There’s only limited democracy to be had in Tauranga. Mahe is a big let down and the Council bureaucrats have been ruling the roost for far too long. Traffic crawls, but we’ve “invested” a small fortune in speed humps and cycleways…

New Zealand glorifies its athletes (you can't really call them sportsmen/women any longer as they rightfully chase money to support themselves and their families) to such an extent that the athletes truly believe themselves to be above mere mortals.
"I rowed a boat faster than than anyone else in the world, therefore I am better than anyone else in the world, and thus I am the best person to row a town to glory" such is the thinking of braindead athletes.
Fred, it's not the athletes who are brain dead.... after all, Drysdale has successfully inserted himself into a position and pay grade that is way above his experience and talent.
It is the Tauranga voters who are brain dead.
Did they learn nothing from the disastrous Susan Devoy?
