The people behind this bill think we’re too blind to see the Trojan horse. They want karakia before lunch, spiritual incantations during class, and belief systems treated as fact. Schools are quietly turning into shrines — mythology in, scepticism out.

When one sees the lengths both Labour and National are going to, to assuage supposed wrongdoings to Māori, it becomes obvious that this generation of parliamentarians have been part of the gradual dumbing down of society!

The parallels between Israel and apartheid South Africa are infinite. While South Africa’s apartheid used race to determine citizenship, the state of Israel uses religious identification (ethno-religion) to determine citizenship.
And now the parallels between apartheid Israel and New Zealand are obvious.

Agree John. You have made some very important points here.
Science is not a set of beliefs but an epistemology - a process by which truth is ascertained based on empiricism - what is observable and/or measurable. As long as we produce graduates, including science degree holders, who don't know the first thing about scientific epistemology, the distinction between science and magic/ethnoscience/mythology etc. will remain blurred and the temptation will arise to treat them as equivalents.
