JC: A Turning Point Has Been Reached

Charlie Kirk’s organisation was called Turning Point. It was an organisation he started as an 18-year-old, having dropped out of college. It became a huge movement, particularly among young people on university campuses. It was a movement that encouraged debate on issues, it was a movement based on conservatism and it was a movement that encouraged young people to find Christianity and God.

With Charlie Kirk’s assassination, because that is what it is, a turning point has been reached – most definitely in America. On a broader front, it is probably a turning point for the world. I say that because there are links to Charlie Kirk’s assassination that go beyond that single horrific event. There are things that have happened in the recent past that are indirectly linked to what took place in Utah.

The world is in a very dark place right now. There are those who say we have never been closer to World War III. The way things are shaping up, they could well be proven correct. If that comes to pass, the Western world as a whole will not be on the side of the terrorists (the Palestinians and the Middle East terror network) and the Western world will not be on the side of the illegal immigrants, many of whom are young men with ulterior motives.

In a global conflict, there is no room for sympathy for the so-called down trodden and oppressed. This will be a war fought to eliminate terrorism, which Israel is trying to do now and getting hounded for it by all the misguided do-gooders in this world. Well, in a war, their views will count for nothing. They will be facing a dose of reality which, with any luck, might be the wake-up call that is needed.

Putin wants to recreate the old USSR and is testing the West right now by sending weaponised drones into Poland. Poland, if it feels its territory, political independence or security has been threatened, has only to invoke Article Four of the NATO Treaty to commence discussions amongst all member countries. Those discussions have the potential to lead to action that would involve invoking Article Five. This article essentially defines an attack on any one member country as an attack on all.

If the next global conflict comes to pass, there will be a recalibration at the end of it. In New Zealand’s case we’ll find out who our friends really are. And China, our largest trading partner, will not be one of them. There is every chance we will be back with America and Britain along with the trading block of which we are currently a member, as is the United Kingdom. That might mean an end to this ridiculous anti-nuclear stance by which we are supposedly ‘independent’.

There is no room in today’s world for independence. We might be a pimple at the bottom of the world, but that doesn’t entitle us to become some sort of a benign utopia. We are part of the global fabric of the world as much as any other country. When the chips are down, we, as a country, will be obliged to join our allies in combat. The current conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine give some insight into what the next global war might look like. Drones will be in the ascendancy.

I intend writing further articles on the contributing factors leading to where the world finds itself in this situation. Suffice it to say, we should all be very thankful Donald Trump is in the White House and has chosen a cabinet of no-nonsense individuals. They will be the lead players in any future global conflict. He, and they, now find their lives in danger with every step they take. It is obvious from what happened in Utah that the radical left, who should be considered domestic terrorists, know no bounds.

To finish with – I listen to a podcaster in Florida, a man of brown skin, an avid Trump supporter and a devout Catholic. I mention brown skin because a lot of them are avid Trump supporters. He was hoping and asking his substantial audience to pray that Charlie Kirk would survive, even though the chances were slim. He wouldn’t confirm the death until he heard of it from President Trump. His initial response was: “I am now forced to consider my faith.” He will of course stay with his faith, but that was how deep it cut him. Many millions in America will have felt that deep cut.

Never in my life do I recall the sort of disturbing callous reaction to a murder/assassination that we are witnessing from the Left. One example a New Zealand business man said something like 'let's hope Charlie Kirk's views and opinions died with him'.
