Rod Kane: One Year To Go And Coming Down To The Wire

The coalition is two years in and now getting ready for a big marketing campaign to get back in, come October 2026. It is just around the corner. Have they learnt anything..?

If I have to say anything positive about Luxon and the Nats, he has done a great job of keeping the team together and the in-house bitching out of the hands of the feral media.

They have done some good things, if only half hearted and at the insistence of his coalition partners, like the repeal of 3 racist waters, the Maori Health Authority and a number of other initiatives that Ardern and her Maori government landed on us without consultation or care.

It would be fair to say that this coalition got their entry ticket on the back of the voters who had finally had enough of the racism and incompetence of the Ardern/Hipkins years. This country might never recover from the division and hatred that that woman injected into this country. It is inconceivable that she was able to flee this country, take her newly gotten tens of millions of $ with her, to a life of self imposed exile and adulation in the US while leaving the rest of us to clean up the mess. We probably never will.

The economy and finances will take decades to sort out while her ex MPs like Robertson, Jackson, Mahuta et al, roll in vaults of cash in cushy jobs or retirement.

You might have thought that a new broom would have seen a clear path forward by avoiding all the terrible, arrogant and incompetent mistakes that the previous clown show made. But no, not a bar of it.

The first hint that things were not going to end well for those wanting equal opportunity and democracy was in the first few weeks, when Luxon announced that those of us not wanting treaty principles applied to everything were part of the older 6% conspiracy theorists. From there on in we were not only ignored, we were actively legislated against.

ACT has been the coalition partner that has worked hard to represent us. Peters on the other hand has applied a lot of good words to the problem but not much else. That notwithstanding, he is an excellent foreign affairs minister.

His deputy Shane Jones has a great line of rhetoric but has done little else. We won’t forgive him and Peters for the 3 billion $ slush fund they kept for themselves and lathering it all over Maori interests and marae up and down the country. Many now have concrete drives, signage, built-in accommodation, carparks and floodlighting, huge entertainment areas and cooking facilities, you name it, they have it, all with YOUR money, while you can't afford the groceries.

But getting back to the Nats, you might have thought it would have been an easy-ish task to get rid of all of Arderns racist plants in all second tier Govt positions, seats of power in our universities and schools, hospitals etc. You name it...everything down to the Coastguard, St Johns and even the Sallies have been infected with this socialist disease.

He was going to rid the country of the 14,000 mickey mouse jobs that Hipkins invented in the public service, but nothing’s changed there either. Just words.

We have pleaded with him and his crew to listen to us, but the arrogance and disdain for our needs and opinions has left us in the appalling position of living in a democratic wasteland.

He just doesn’t want to know. Ask the man anything and you will get the same well trodden threadbare answer...’we are working incredibly hard turning this economy around’.

Yes well that might be the case however it does appear that multitasking has never occurred to him.

If there is one thing that we have to give credit to the tyrannical Ardern and her corrupt Maori Government, it is this; The speed and aptitude that she applied to the destruction of this country at every level, and the handover of control to tribal interests was just eye popping.

It was in complete contrast to this Governments lethargy in pulling any of it back, in spite of the promises.

We now have a situation where race based politics and an adherence to a piece of paper with three simple clauses in it, written in the early 1800’s, for the early 1800's, and misinterpreted on all sides of the house, now dictates what we can and con not do, and who has to pay who, to do what.

Luxon has not only done next to nothing, he has embedded a lot of this racist garbage into our legislation. It is in our schools, our universities, our health system, our national and local governance, at all levels of second tier governance and in many of the Govt partly funded private institutions. The speaker is weak and ineffective, the Judges and Judiciary can best be described as a disgrace, the public still funds a rabid and racist TV and press, the BSA is a one sided joke, we can no longer trust anyone.

The country is in a legislative racist shambles.

We are all screaming for change, and the Nats just don’t want to know.

Say what you like about polls, they are a pointer to what’s coming down the line, and the last eight polls have shown that over 70% don’t want the Nats in power and 80% don’t want Luxon as the PM.

Wouldn’t you think, in the last year of this term, that would start to ring alarm bells in the Nats camp...particularly when the public actually prefer the appalling prospect of the left again, after all that they destroyed..?

We now live in a country where my own son and daughter, with 1/64 th Maori blood in their veins, can now go fishing anywhere they like in the Hauraki gulf, but I, as the birth father, cannot.

Is this the sort of country we want to leave to our grandkids..?

If this government allow the left wing lunatics to get back in, your life is going to change forever.

If you have done nothing to stop it up until now, now is the time to start making a really big noise. For pity's sake, lets all do something.

Spot-on commentary, but unfortunately it is unlikely to reach Luxon et al., and even if it did, they would not take notice, that's how cloth-eared and deaf to the NZ public's cries they are. Also, peace to you and your family, but how can a 1/64th maori link have any validity in any sense? I know you don't consider it important, but many activists do. I am 1/4 Greek but cannot claim Greek citizenship on that basis, nor any special considerations, not that I would, but dilution of ancestral genes over the generations, and then according overwhelming importance to them is not only stupid, but divisive. It could mean that all of the population here starts to search its ancestral data base and begins claiming special privileges which would be appallingly disruptive as we are seeing anyway with just one faction of the population trying it on because the toothy bitch (and many weak-kneed politicians before her) enabled it.

If our democratically elected leaders keep ignoring us - and the insidious odious bureacracy does its damnedest to frustrate change - then how do we force change?

This is not government for the people, or for business.
It is government for the woke bureaucracy and it needs to end.

We have voted and failed....history has repeatedly shown that demonstration is the next step.

If only someone would organise something that doesn't get hijacked by Brian Tamaki!

National has nowhere to go in tilting to the right. They would take votes off of NZ First of ACT but the just about half the electorate who support Labour/Greens and TPM are locked in for the Left.

Excellent article Rod and please keep them coming.

H Clark started large scale political corruption in nz resulting in mysterious riches for the h clark foundation and Michael Cullen.

Key was a bit more subtle. Key didn’t do anything about the price colluding Aussie banks making 100% more profit in nz. Key was rewarded with a post politics anz board chair position..

Then along came ardern who immediately turned to h Clark for advice. The labour hierarchy set about mysteriously gifting tens of millions to the Maori kings family with no stated social or political goal, they also loaded up the waiparera trust with our money with no controls to eneure it was sepnt wisely, which a recent report unsurprisingly said it wasn’t.

There were also many ghost projects and multi billion dollar consultant bills, none of which were ever going too provide taxpayers benefit.

The along came the covid cash cow. Nz had the most expensive covid response in the oced and the highest excess mortality.

Luxon recently labelled Labours money laundering schemes as ghost projects so why aren’t our current politicians auditing and exposing the fraud?

Our only hope is luxoin is keeping the covid inquiry taX FRAUD results hidden until the election.

But after watching nd listening to the minister in charge of the inquiry, Im not hopeful. Its safe to say Van Velden has been promoted many levels above her ability.

If any proof were needed as to to the truth of what Rod has written just look at the disgraceful Gene Technology Bill and the utter debacle of Nationals handling of the BSA/the Platform affair. These two incidents alone should ensure that Luxon and his toadies get booted out at the next election.

Excellent article Rod, very true, national are such a disappointment and while they say they want to get the economy "back on track" I dont believe they can truely do that without addressing all of the race based policy in this country. The country is being destroyed, and yes I fear a National/Labour coalition. How do we get Luxon and the National Party to WAKE UP !!!.

What a well written article !
Encapsulates most of what is wrong with NZ.
It especially states that Luxon is a failure with regards to democracy.
His arrogance knows no bounds.

I will never vote National again
Luxon and your acolytes listening ?

Somewhere on another blog there was a suggestion of a future grand coalition of National and Labour. It might be said that in the background and backrooms we have something akin to that in operation now as it is. Neither party seems ready to grasp the nettle and take the dead hand of Maori out of the mix.

What could a grand coalition do except serve as a fundamental betrayal of New Zealand’s democratic system. If nothing radical came about as a result it would be a betrayal. Possibly a 75% majority could take down the Waitangi Tribunal and wipe out the Maori seats also. Not likely knowing how much in love our politicians are with things Maori, cushy jobs, salaries, and the gold plated superannuation scheme. For many of the politicians it is simply a job. It usually becomes a job after two or three terms.

All of which has the question coming back to me – what generates the sway and influence that Maori have had over successive governments? We need an insider, or a deep throat, from somewhere to reveal all.

As for Luxon I am afraid he has a bad case of CBD. Charisma Bypass Disease.

Luxon still believes he's the CEO of NZ Incorporated. Unfortunately NZ Incorporated is not delivering for its shareholders and the shareholders have seen little in return for their investment. Fletcher Construction are a perfect example of what can happen in the real world. From hero to zero and no way back. The Directors of NZ Incorporated need to pull their heads out of the sand, get their act together and replace the existing CEO with someone who can lead the Party to success in '26!

Race is an issue, but not the only issue. Luxon is a climate change alarmist who is happy to shaft our farmers. Did anyone see how Watts allowed greenie Jack Tame to walk all over him? Watts knows nothing about methane and is not prepared to learn. It is probably too late to replace Luxon, but he should be replaced early in 2027 if we do not lose the election.

Excellent article, Rod. Unfortunately you are soo right !!
I cannot see any way forward for our once peaceful nation. The future I see is a continuation of the ridiculous, racist, apartheid domination being enforced upon us.
It's well under way right now. The tendrils of tribal control are in about 70 Acts of Parliament, and our schools and professional bodies. Most of our councils have multiple agreements with "iwi" which give them control.

What a wasted three years. Luxon is mischievously preserving Labour’s two glamour policies. Maorification and the delusional net zero climate nonsense. His short tenure will be remembered as the man who thought he could but couldn’t.

Good things like the repeal of three waters lol. Cries at seeing crumbling infrastructure and bankrupt councils from top to bottom of the country. The cognitive dissonance is real fellas!

Your commentary Rod, completely accurate and should be compulsory reading in all media. I do hope you have sent it to Luxon, although his staffers will probably intervene, in case it affects the poor man’s pride. Never did I imagine I would live to see this day where I can no longer understand many Government departments purpose, given its Māori name. Never have I felt so helpless watching my country (as a 4th or 5th generation NZer) go down the gurgler and become an apartheid nation. Angry doesn’t describe it, but sad surely does.

Thanks for your article. Accurate.
Hipkins couldn't define a woman, but Palmer found it easy to define a 'maori'.
This imho, is what has screwed this fine country.
I am 4th generation Kiwi, our grandson 6th.
As far as I know, I have no maori ancestry, but should I claim that, it could not easily be disproven.
However, a bloke from Timbuktu, on a flight stop over, could impregnate a girl with 1% maori ancestry (she calls herself maori) and the resultant male child's descendents will forever be entitled to call themselves 'maori', with all the associated trappings, should they have the audacity to take advantage of them.
Monty Python could not have dreamed this up.

Whatever was in the covid jabs, it certainly wasn't humour.
Lange proved from his wonderful humour, that he could never be a socialist. We need about 20 like him right now.
Seymour has a good, cynical, humorous outlook, but nobody seems to get that these days.
Peters and Jones are good.
The rest?
I doubt if Luxon could tell a joke.
Hipkins is a joke imho.
The Kiwi has become almost extinct, and few now understand what to be that was.
Ameni.

Great article and salient points.
It might be fair though to point out that left wing (progressive) activists were already in place for Fraulein Ardern and so her agenda was relatively easy to get over the line. When those same people are heavy in the current bureaucracy they can act as a handbrake rather than a helper. Not excusing National at all - just something worthy to consider.

Great article. Probably couldn't summarize better myself. I feel you are being a bit too nice to ardern. Imo ardern = pure evil. I agree she needs to be held accountable for her destruction though.

The solution is obvious and needs to be repeated endlessly:
Vote blue elctorate vote to keep the left out and only PARTY VOTE ACT or NZF for real governance of NZ . National will be a minority member of the 2026 Coaltion
