A friend of a friend was offered a chance to attend a fundraising dinner where the special guest was Christopher Luxon.
“A small number of seats have unexpectedly become available for our fundraiser dinner event this Thursday, 26 March at 6pm featuring special guest the Leader of the National Party, Christopher Luxon.”
Herewith is his, in my view, great response –
Sorry Dan,
But any government which has the power and the ability to prevent the administration and control over the one natural resource on this planet which is required for life to exist, ending up in the hands of people not qualified, people appointed to committees because of their cultural and ethnic backgrounds, in the belief their ancestors had some sort of unbreakable gold seal deal, and have rights which the rest of the citizens in this country do not have, does not deserve our support to fund raise or expect our votes, and therefore I will not be attending.
No Dan I’m sorry but for me water is water. It is not an entity with its own spirit or mana as some claim. It is one part Oxygen and two parts Hydrogen. It can certainly be called a treasure, a gift or a present, indeed it is all of that, but for all mankind and all life on this planet. Which is why it so vitally important that we demand the administration and control of water is made by and for the benefit and health and well being of us all. And like yourself Dan, people in those positions must always be chosen and subjected to the public choice.
We were told last time there were things that were “bottom lines”. Passing the buck to local government over the water issue, is not in my opinion a sign of the good strong government we were told we would get.
Regards…
