Pee Kay: Ponder These…

Do you ever read a newspaper headline and think WTF or wonder what the hell the writer was trying to prove?

I find it almost impossible these days to read articles in the Herald and not contemplate what lies beyond the headline, what questions hasn’t the “reporter” asked, what hasn’t been said, what is the “other side of the coin.”

Here are examples from yesterday’s paper –

Mob’s Plan To Fire on Mourners –

When a senior member of Black Power’s Mangu Kaha sub-chapter died, a tangi was planned in the heart of Mongrel Mob territory. The Mob’s East Bay Barbarians decided to use the death as an opportunity – hatching a plan to fire on mourners gathering at a marae.

…the previous captain of the East Bay Barbarians, the late Steven Taiatini, allegedly egged him on, saying, “F***en in there Tarmz Dog, smoke this c*** dog”.

You have to wonder why some members of society are just evil b-stards? Is this an ethnic thing? Just what sort of upbringing, what sort of role models are these people following?

Can you actually blame an upbring for this sort of thinking? It might play a part but surely everyone has been born with an innate sense of when an action is clearly wrong? Or are some people or even ethnicities just born with DNA that is hard wired to create lawlessness?

Trump Seeks Global Backing To Secure Oil Route –

President Donald Trump has urged other nations to help secure a vital shipping lane choked off by the war with Iran…

After earlier vowing that the US Navy would “very soon” begin escorting tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, Trump called for reinforcements.

Who do you think will be the first world leader to put their hand up and say – “We will help you President Trump but we want all tariffs placed on our exports to the US to be changed to -15%!”

Panic As Pumps Run Out – Again

That was the headline on the front page!

What is with the “again”? “Petrol pumps ran dry at some Gull service stations across Auckland on Saturday – the second time in three days.”

When is that the last time the writer is referring to? If it is the “three days,” isn’t that really the same matter?

My thoughts are that that sort of headline is nothing short of irresponsible and only serves to create greater demand on already low stocks!

Newspaper Click bait!
