Wealth tax? - Has it already "crept in" - Rex Anderson
Council rates are rising at an ever-increasing rate because of "failing infrastructure"
I'm not denying that infrastructure is failing.
That has been going on for the last 40 years or so; this is nothing new, caused by successive councils sweeping it under the carpet or putting it in the too-hard basket for the next council to do exactly the same thing!
But have rates become another form of tax, a wealth tax?
Honest Johny Key and National devised the most cunning of plans: assigning local government the responsibility for social policies/outcomes, including their versions of democracy based on race and dividing resources among their favoured iwi.
For example, social housing & contributing to social well-being.
We now have a leftwing group called LGNZ running most councils along with iwi partners.
My question is. - Are these huge rate rises a form of wealth tax?
We already pay income tax for welfare.
Welfare from income tax collected for the "central government" should be used to pay for social housing and associated costs of looking after those who cannot look after themselves.
Are these ever-increasing rate rises another form of tax?
Councils are completely out of control.
Some councils are even paying for Marae maintenance, helping with education and taking on health initiatives.
That is not what my rates are for!
If I work hard and end up with a million-dollar house, that's not a flash house these days.
Why should I be taxed on that?
How much tax do I pay on every hard-earned dollar?
The question you should be asking of your local council and those that are standing for the upcoming election is.
What percentage of rates goes to infrastructure?
What percentage is for "social well-being/social housing?
What percentage goes on council iwi relationships/co-governance?
Wellington council decided for everyone last week.
Including our Jewish rate-payers.
"We" needed to have a sister city in Palestine.
Whanau signs friendly city agreement with the Palestinian city of Ramallah.
Now I don't want to get into an argument about Palestine, but, really?
Never mind the fact no rate-payers were even asked if they wanted this, how much did it cost?
Along with the $250,000 bike racks and 2 million dollars toilets with flashing lights.
Time to put the trash out.
Rid ourselves of the leftard losers and bludgers.
Do away with LGNZ.
Voter apathy cannot be a key in the next elections.
Look where it's got us so far.
Councils based on doing the basics, no more social well being that really equates to paying extra income tax to be flushed down the leaking sewer to accomplish absolutely, "nothing" zilch!
Wake up campers.
Question they who "appear" to support you in council.
Get out and vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
