But I want to make it clear that if they want to effect real change in the world, they need to turn up to school and get a good education now.
No longer is this just a strike about the climate – it is now also about toi tu te tiriti, it is about freeing Palestine, ending the fast-track approvals bill, keeping the ban on oil and gas, and lowering the voting age to 16.
It’s about everything, basically. Everything except the most important thing they could be doing as children… learning.
Well educated young people equipped with the ability to reason, think and innovate are what the country, and the world, need for a sustainable future.
The solution to climate change is not hysteria or protests predicated on the left’s list of what it regards as the world’s ill. Nor is it money wasted on politics and bureaucracy.
It’s research, science and technology that will help reduce warming and enable adaptations to it and that needs well educated young people, not protesters who almost certainly don’t really know what they’re protesting about.

Putting aside the hoax that carbon emissions, driven by human activities are in anyway changing the climate.
I absolutely agree we are witnessing the corruption of our children. The education system and main stream media are the perpetrators of this crime.
The use of children by Marxist fanatics is unforgivable.

No Ele, it's cool for the nut jobs to be seen as nut jobs and having them open their mouths for confirmation. This young nut case is going to grow up into a big nut case, fearful over everything, but its only peer pressure that drives them as they are so mentally weak. Unfortunately what happens on the left is that the nutcases then try to outdo one another to see who can be the biggest nutter, and they seem to take pride in doing so.
I have to ask a question, I'm willing to bet this young nut case was dropped off to the protest in a V8, diesel ute or large people mover. Would I be right?
Progressive Ideology the dominant idea in our so called education system has never actually fully focused on teaching academic subjects.
The agenda of this ideology in fact has been primarily. indoctrination into some sort of socialist utopia.
Cunningly they worked out early in the 20th century that schooling was the best vehicle for achieving their aim.
Not only has the school curricula content been captured by Progressivist- Marxists but also the school pedagogy which has been rendered ineffective.
Hence just directing kids to get on with their usual school work means for them trying to read, write and do basic maths using methods that are doomed and will cause them inevitable failure. Schools have been stripped of all effective teaching methods.
This is the consequence of about 50 years of Progressive Education. We now are witnessing the so called utopic dream manifest as ignorant,academically incompetent, and indoctrinated children who arrogantly believe they can dictate to us all how to build a better world.
Even if no one can convince her that she has been lied to, she is probably too indoctrinated to understand that if NZ disappeared overnight, the world's climate wouldn't notice. Nothing that she nor anyone else in NZ can make the slightest bit of difference, that's the simple maths of it.
