Dear Ministers,

IT’S TIME TO ENFORCE THE LAW — EQUALLY

New Zealanders have had enough of selective law enforcement. The recent illegal landing by members of Ngāti Wai on the protected Poor Knights Islands* was not a “cultural visit” — it was an open act of defiance against the laws of this country.

The Poor Knights are a marine and nature reserve, off-limits to everyone to safeguard rare species and fragile ecosystems. Those protections exist for good reason. When a group deliberately ignores the law and boasts about it, they’re challenging not only the Department of Conservation, but the authority of your Government and the integrity of the law itself.

If this breach goes unpunished, it sends a dangerous signal that some groups are untouchable — that “one law for all” no longer applies in New Zealand. That’s not equality; that’s privilege.

Prime Minister, I demand you to show leadership. Direct your Ministers and enforcement agencies to uphold the law without fear or favour. The rules that protect our environment belong to every New Zealander, and they must be enforced equally, irrespective of the offender’s standing.

New Zealanders are watching. Your firm and decisive action against this tribal challenge will show New Zealanders that one law applies to all — and could restore confidence in your leadership.

Yours sincerely,
Geoff Parker

Luxon is too busy costing up to Trump to see what is going on in his own country and continues to create a racially split country. He is either a too arrogant-I know best sort of character or plain stupid if he thinks those that voted for him will do so again.

Good on you Geoff for raising this. We are either to be treated equally by those that enforce our laws, or we need to formally recognise that we have apartheid, with two classes of citizenship giving privileges to some.

As for the article claiming it was a 'traditional' double-hulled vessel as it 'motors' along and looks nothing like a waka of history, what a nonsense. And where else in our msm have we seen it reported that there was a $15M 'top-up' to assist the next round of legal action? Yet more money to be thrown at the likes of Chris Finlayson and his ilk, on a quest that Helen Clark rightfully buried for the benefit of ALL back in 2004.

The maximum penalty for an individual is a two-year jail term or a fine or $100,000. How much does anyone want to bet there will be NO upholding of the law or imprisonment/fines imposed upon the favoured ones.

As a police officer said to a friend of mine who had questioned two tiered policing - have you only just worked this out.

Again the MSM deliberately not telling the public about this illegal act.
Another "P" to uphold, as well as Ardern's Principles, Partnership, and Participation.

I look forward to the Prime Minister's open reply to this.

Indeed. And no reply at all will be the most damning.
