Questions for those who want separatism and thus the end of democracy.
1 Why should those of us who believe Maori are just " other Kiwis" support this?
2 Who benefits, all Maori or just a few elites?
3 Do Maori not have more than enough representatives in our parliament?
4 Does this mean these supporters want an end to democracy, as in Tauranga where Mahuta overrode a democratic process?
5 Don't Maori already get enough special privileges?
It is too simplistic to say the Treaty is a partnership. It merely provides for all to be treated equally. We have laws in New Zealand that do not discriminate. All people need to take full advantage of everything the country has to offer.That is totally up to the individual.
