And therefore, the future of the Greens is anything but assured. And without his ballast and experience they open themselves to the ever-increasing reality of heading off down a track of performance art, complete with pro-Palestinianan flags and scarves.

He looked like a fish out of water, and yet still he stayed for 9 long years.

I always had the impression he could have done so much more if only he hadn't been hanging with the crazies.
A decent bloke with his heart and intentions in the right place just hijacked by or held captive by people around him he thought were his mates.
Next stop surely the full-blown freedom of the outside world; run James, run.

I don't think Shaw is "Just another delusional, useful idiot" nor do i think he's a grifter.
I think he's just thick.
So unworldly, thanks to his upbringing, that he can't actually see just how pathetic and out-of-place he was in the Reds outfit.
Unlike his predecessor I suspect Shaw struggled walking and chewing gum at the same time. Getting around corners will be a struggle.
I doubt there is a place for him in the real world, I doubt that he can do good for someone but I do hope some charitable outfit gives him a title and a desk and allows him to quietly slip into the twilight.
Anyone else noted that James Shaw has decided to retire from Parliament just after he qualified for free air travel for life ?
