Duncan Garner: Auckland Transport Hires Māori Outcomes Executive

Aucklanders are getting hammered by rates, congestion, and failing infrastructure, yet Auckland Transport is advertising for a Head of Māori Outcomes reporting straight to the CEO. A passenger is a passenger, and standard public transport should deliver one service for everyone. We look at how bloated public sector bureaucracy keeps expanding while the basics remain broken.

Not that long ago, this would have been a headline in the Herald slamming AT for this racist appointment.
Not a whimper out of the Editors today, but endorsing apartheid by their lack of condemnation.

This discrimination has to be illegal.
Why does the law allow it ?
If my company advertised a position that only a person of English heritage could apply for, I would have protesters outside my business, and I would be dragged before the Court.
Two separate laws, one well defined for every one except Maori and a another vague lenieone for Maori ?
,
Why isnt Luxon acting ?

Auckland Council is obsessed with pro maoriness. Its Report on climate change a few years ago concentrated on the fancied effect on maori and the inclusion of rangatahi to find solutions. The Tupuna Maunga Authroity, the Management Plan for the Regionanl Parks and the D of A for Waitakere Park make extensive provision for consultation of and effective control by maori and for favoured letting of contracts etc. to maori. Council recently tipped 2 million dollars into an Insurgency Coordinatio Centre (marae) for remnant tribe Kawerua in whose name Park policy. is dominated..

the worst thing is there are NO real Maori left in Nz.They have some Maori ancestry but they also have other ancestry so they are all creaming it off from the naive pakeha as well for all their benefits. It has to stop.I am considering seriously voting for ACT

NZ is headed for serious unrest very very soon. People are getting either very angry/apathetic... something will blow apart - and I'm so glad I'm o l d .....

This must be illegal. or should be. There is absolutely no difference in the needs of any race who is a passenger on any transport.

Just complete BS and position must be dissolved immediately.

Look forward to Pacifica and Chinese roles soon?

Is the role of this new parasite to continue the indoctrination with artificial signage, te reo announcements and pretend that anyone of any race can understand a word of it ?
I fully expect AT staff who make up this bullshit can not remember a word that they forced on passengers.

I thought Brown was going to stop this crap from AT ?
I expect everyone on the AT payroll go be working for the benefit of everyone, not just a few with some historical DNA.

Auckland Transport or its overlord Auckland City Council will have a major say in what form the next Harbour Crossing will take – Tunnel, Bridge, or Whatever.

My guess is that a Tunnel would be a No-No because the Maori Outcomes guy would say tunnelling would disturb the Taniwha. How many Taniwha are lurking under the Harbour?

A second Bridge will be too expensive. And does NZ have the heavy steel industry to fabricate all the parts?

Which brings us to Whatever, when the current bridge rusts out and collapses.

The cheapest Whatever would be a chain of Pontoons. If you Google “Pontoon Bridges” you could find it not to be the craziest idea. Though I wouldn’t invite any whales into the harbour
