Geoff Neal: Drinking water quality didn’t noticeably decline for any of the 12 years measured. Were we lied to?

KEY INSIGHTS

The Department of Internal Affairs’ advertisements showed green slime coming out of taps

The campaign was a finalist in the ‘2021 Best Design Awards’.

The truth is that New Zealand’s drinking water quality didn’t noticeably decline for any of the 12 years that it was measured from 2009 to 2021, even under the tougher 2018 Standards.

Other notes:All publicly available data has been published.
2008/09 – no overall compliance score was recorded. The Health (Drinking Water) Amendment Act 2007 was still fairly new.
2001/22/23 – the responsibility was transferred to Taumata Arowai (the new water regulator), and an overall compliance score is no longer recorded for comparison.
Additional details and notes can be found in the data source pages below.
All numbers are provisional and subject to revision.

Thank you to the Ministry of Health, Taumata Arowai and the Factors who helped pull this together.

The ad campaign was designed to do three things.

1. Lie about Three Waters and build 'the narrative'.

2. Provide MSM with full book price advertising revenue to keep them aligned to 'the narrative' and their bank accounts full.

3. To propogate 'the narrative' across all public services (health, education etc) to facilitate Labours agenda to cede control to activist, tribal treatyists.

Propaganda only works if you make people suffer and can have someone to blame for their suffering. Labours scape goat Covid lockdowns etc. were not strong enough for the thinking people of New Zealand to swallow.

May the individuals involved burn in what ever narcissistic pit they choose.

Geoff - the reason why we were misled (or this information was kept secret) is because Three Waters was never really about cleaner drinking water in the first place. The whole project was an attempt by iwi groups to gain a measure of ownership over our water - something that most of them have coveted for a long time. Whether this may have resulted in cleaner water was ultimately immaterial to them and to the Maori members in Labour’s caucus.

But I suspect you know that already, right?

Amen to that Anna Mouse.

Well said Anna. Thank god the nightmare is over. The State funded media will lose its treacherous income source forcing it to either earn some credibility or go out of business. I believe the latter will occur. Propaganda is easier fabricate than investigative journalism.

How come Nanaia and Labour get away with such enormous porkies? They outright lied to the entire nation. Unethical but not illegal behaviour perhaps? It feels so wrong. How come we only clearly see these facts now? Bouquets to The Facts - thank you! Brick bats to mainstream media - shame on you.

Thank you Anna for your comments . The levels of nitrate in our drinking water that Mike Joy and Russell Norman consistently misinform the public about is tantamount to treason . The upper level of nitrate the Danish study they refer to is 25mg/l not 1 mg/l.At 1mg/l most of us would consume approximately ! gram of nitrate per annum !! WHO max is 11mg/l which all our watersupllies are well below.
The NZ bowel cancer society states its highly unlikely these levels would cause bowel cancer as 92% of nitrates are absorbed in the stomach and small intestine . Most of our Nitrates are from greens ,beets and processed feeds , all of which need substantial amounts of synthetic nitrogen to grow. Beetroot can be as high as 10,000ppm and is used by athletes to improve performance (that is 10,000 times the 1ppm Joy and co claim is affecting our health.) spinach ,lettuce kale etc are in the 2-3000ppm . There needs to be law against this kind bulls...t .Its worse than hate speech in the negative effect it has on society
