Heather du Plessis-Allan: The Bondi attack was a race relations problem

This business of Australia tightening up its gun laws feels like it runs the risk of distracting from the bigger problems over there.

I don’t think guns were the problem on Sunday. Australia already has some of the tightest gun laws in the world.

This is a race relations problem.

This attack was predictable. There was no shortage of warnings.

Jewish businesses have been set alight in recent years, synagogues have been attacked, obviously Jewish people have been hassled, Israeli people have been denied customer service in Melbourne, cars have been set alight in an anti-Semitic attack and two nurses in Sydney lost their jobs for bragging on TikTok that they would kill Jewish patients.

There is a timeline on Time magazine’s website of all the events leading up to Sunday that is confronting.

The Albanese Government knew there was a problem brewing. They asked the special envoy on anti-Semitism to give them a set of recommendations.

For the last six months they’ve had those recommendations and done nothing.

So, tightening up gun laws is never a bad thing. Checking in on a licence holder every few years rather than never must be a good thing.

But if the Aussies think that’s the fix for what just happened, they are misguided and allowing themselves to be distracted.

The Jews at Bondi booed Minister Tony Burke and said he had blood on his hands. This could cost Marxist Albo the next election.

Islam is not a race, so Bondi was not a 'race relations problem'.
The perpetrators of attacks such as these may be Arab but they may also be Persian, Afghan or Pakistani, to name just three.
Defining a problem is a first step towards solving it. Defining it wrongly only makes things worse.

Root cause analysis is not a strength of most politicians, particularly those of the left who find that an inconvenient impediment to their idealistic aims. The situation in Australia is sadly no different. The root cause here is not the guns but those who are radicalised and choose to take up weapons to further their warped aims. Yes, miss-defining the problem wrongly only makes things worse. A sad facet of human behaviour is that most "solutions" result in other problems.

I'd like to see AI solve the problem the West now faces from violent extremists and growing acts of terrorism.

Tragically, for the many deceased and injured/wounded by gun shot, and not unlike like Oct 7, this barbaric massacre was a massive security fail. The wolves slipped through in plain sight, and the sheep were...well...sitting ducks. Heart-breaking. Two junior Police Officers were on duty on the beach. One out of training school but 4 months. Top marks to the plain-clothes cop who took these guys out at 40 metres with a hand gun. Doug Longmire's excellent timeline is so confronting. It seems that all these dire warnings were met with little or no action. And yes, Albo has to go. Someone has to fall on their sword over this, surely.

With compliments to Doug Longmire, an impressive list of atrocities that have occurred in Australia, perpetrated by one specific "group", with "ties" to radical groups who have across the years since 1948 committed such attacks, the target being The Jewish Community, Worldwide.
To add to Doug's 'work", I suggest Readers need to re-look at France, who have also faced similar incidents.
Interesting with both Countries mentioned, that the "leaders" (noter lower case L) as being the most incompetent 'mis-fits' ever to lead their respective Nations.
Macron has 'longevity' in the French Parliament, almost as long as Albanese and both on the occasions that Islamic Radicals have attacked the respective societies/people/places - their follow up actions have 'failed' to protect those - societies/people/places from the next attack.
The perpetrators in the first instance, noting this 'failure' have attacked again.
Interesting, that in the "aftermath" just how both men have fronted the media with lengthy statements, that when you read comments on other sources are 'equated' as being -
- we hear you
- we are doing something about it (lengthy committee meetings, enquiries, investigations, review of CCTV footage etc)
- having concluded above, we may get around to doing something
- we have lost interest (till the next time).
It is also interesting, that with both leaders, the People of both Nations have lost faith in them, both are "tanking" in the political polls and both face becoming un-elected in the next elections within their respective Nations.
The other interesting facet, is that in -
- England, France & Australia -
they have radical Imam's, who preach "hate speech" toward the Jewish Community, and they get away with it.
But when the Jewish Community (or any other persons/group), rise and protest, the Police 'coming knocking on the door'.
Odd that.

Yes, thank you, Doug, for your list .What more warning could there have been?
The son of Hamas leader, turned Israeli sympathizer warned that this sort of jihadist
attack is inevitable , big scale in the West . These pro -Palestinian Westerners need to be confronted about what they are promoting .

Bearing in mind that the following clip is intentionally ironic, the core message clearly portrays "what they are promoting" (anon 7:39 PM)

And HDPA calls herself a journalist!! Her ignorance is despicable. Neither Islam nor Judaism is a race. This was a heinous religious attack.
