Guest Post: Peter Ellis Case Blows Up New Zealand – Twice

A guest post on Kiwiblog by Peter Lynn:

The strengthening of Tikanga is ominous for New Zealand.

In the 1980’s and 1990’s there were sporadic hysterias about paedophile rings and satanic abuse in various western countries.

In 1993, 35-year-old homosexual Peter Ellis, who had been working at the Christchurch Civic Childcare Centre was tried for offenses against children and found guilty. Four female workers were discharged.

NZCPR Newsletter: He Puapua Accelerates

“The catch cry ‘democracy does not work for Maori’ has become the mantra for the destruction of democracy. Lenin would recognise what is being attempted in New Zealand in 2022, as would any self-respecting South American dictator. Quite simply we are witnessing a coup designed to dismantle our democracy and the Rule of Law and replace it with the worst form of tribalism coupled with the greed of those who want what they have not earned.”

– Anthony Willy, former Judge and Law Lecturer, June 2022

The rollout of the Government’s He Puapua plan to establish Maori sovereignty by 2040 is proceeding at breath taking speed. We are living in revolutionary times. It is a coup, by a small number of iwi elite who have their hands on the levers of power thanks to our Prime Minister’s willingness to sacrifice New Zealand democracy for totalitarian tribal rule.

Virtually every facet of our society is now subjected to their influence with their latest ‘conquest’, the legal system.

Bob Jones: The greatest disgrace in our legal history

I suspect most people were happy with the Peter Ellis Supreme Court verdict given some of the alleged victims’ stories were so obviously fantasy. Doubtless they then thought no more about it.

But underlying the verdict which had legal complications due to time lapses and Ellis being dead, was a truly alarming action by the Court’s judges.

This was their illegal introduction of maori customary law (tikanga), used in this case to overcome a technical difficulty.

I won’t trouble you with the details other than to say that what it amounted to was the judges making law. That’s not their bloody role. Laws should only be made by Parliament, or, in other words the people’s representatives and not by self-appointed legislators.
