Garrick Tremain: Virgin Air

Here is Garrick Tremain's cartoon commentary on Chippy's back up plane!

Garrick Tremain is one of New Zealand's best known artists and political cartoonists. With a background in farming and advertising, he has a wonderful ability to capture in images exactly what people are thinking in a way that makes us laugh. You can see his more of his work on his website HERE.

As with most technical matters there is no attempt to inform the public of any detail. Why are the planes so unreliable? We had a dud transport in the 50s but that was made in England. Were the planes 2nd hand and high mileage? The Hercules are very old but OK. We specialise in buying dud military hardware. The vast horde of troop carriers were nbg (although may be useful in the coming maori rebellion if there are any non maori drivers) and the ship Upham was a disaster.

$105M of essentially unused LAV's; $530M of unused RATs; $2-3B to establish Unaffordable Waters, what's another $500m for a couple of replacement aircraft? I'm sure Robertson could conjure it up with a stoke of his pen.
