JC: Trump Puts the World on Notice

Donald Trump should be taken at his word. Both domestically and internationally Trump is carrying out his promises. He is the one (probably the only), leader on the planet who stays true to his word. He has said time and time again, even before he entered politics, that Iran should never have nuclear weapons. Last weekend he translated his words into action.

Trump is not a warmonger by any stretch of the imagination. He has given Iran numerous opportunities to come to the negotiating table and make a deal. The problem for Iran was the strings attached to the deal that they could not possibly agree to. They prefer the sort of deal that the likes of Obama and Biden offered. These deals were easy to accept, knowing they could carry on their merry way with, in the case of Biden, American taxpayer dollars thrown in to enable the financing of their proxies; as close to aiding and abetting as you can get.

By not coming to the negotiating table Iran gave Trump no option but to act. The reality for Iran is that either way they would have lost their nuclear capabilities. It could be argued they chose the worse of the two options, as under a deal their sites would not have been bombed…for now. Stray from the deal and the consequences would be what we witnessed at the weekend. The Ayatollah was between a rock and a hard place. Either way he was powerless to assert his authority.

The reality is all the power is with America because of the firepower they have at their disposal. I have been looking into it and it is truly staggering, both in the air and on the water. If the Ayatollah is stupid enough to attack America or its interests anywhere then he has no hope of winning. I doubt most of the world is aware of the advanced weaponry, systems and hardware that America could use if necessary. They are, without doubt, the world’s number one military power.

When Trump talks about the military might of the United States, he’s not lying. No other country on the planet could have achieved what we saw at the weekend. It was a complex operation involving a huge number of planes, ships and personnel coordinated in a way I thought America wasn’t capable of.

They have an impressive arsenal already and more advanced military technology is being developed as we speak.

America has the world’s largest warship (with more under construction) that could change naval warfare forever. The Ford-class aircraft carrier is eleven hundred feet long (almost as long as the Empire State Building is tall) and weighs about one hundred thousand tons. Aircraft are stored in a giant hangar and three supersized elevators deliver the planes to the flight deck.

Equipped with multiple electromagnetic catapult systems, the Ford class is capable of launching planes quicker than ever before. Potentially it could handle over 200 missions a day with aircraft being able to take off and land almost simultaneously.

The latest US nuclear submarines, armed with underwater launching ballistic missiles capable of delivering multiple nuclear warheads with devastating precision across global targets, are amongst the most powerful weapons platforms on the planet.

This is truly mind blowing stuff and the aim of all this weaponry and hardware is not about an enthusiasm for war, rather it is about having a deterrent to war. This is peace through strength. It is a way of saying don’t mess with us or our allies. We don’t want to use force but we have the means to do so. It is a message Iran should heed now.

What happened on the weekend will have China, Russia and North Korea sitting up and taking notice. I bet China is re-thinking its plans about Taiwan.

My research suggests there is a lot more to fear coming down the production line than just bunker bombs. The United State Defence Budget for the fiscal year 2025 is $849.8 Billion. For the fiscal year 2026 it is projected to be $961.6 billion.

Each of the B2 bombers cost $2 billion and America has 19 of them. The SR 71 "Blackbirds", which were retired in 1998, cost $64.7 million each. Development and production costs amounted to around $2.2 billion. The new Ford-class aircraft carriers each cost around $13 billion and 10 will make up the fleet. $4.7 billion was spent on development and research.

Trump’s aim is not to start wars but to have the means to prevent wars from happening. As he has shown, diplomacy is his first option but he will act if he has to. He is a believer in peace through strength. You get the strength and then you get the peace. There is no room in this strategy for de-escalation. That is not how it works and leaders around the world should start waking up to the fact that there are only two options on the table. It’s very simple – negotiate or face the consequences.

The most reliable polls in America show close to 80 per cent support for Trump’s strategy.

Meanwhile the lefty loonies like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders are yet again calling for his impeachment.

If Iran wants to continue fighting, that is up to them but the outcome will be the same: they will lose in the end.

Any other country choosing to tangle with America or its allies does so at its own peril. Trump’s strategy, peace through strength, will see them coming off second best.

This is a strategy I back because I believe it will make the world a safer place.

I learnt early in the school yard. The best defence is strength. One of my mates, the most peace loving of fellows, was always left alone. The aggressors were always in fear of any response. He just exuded power by his presence and physique.

Quite true, when I was an apprentice in the RAF UK, one of our number was a big Fijian lad, a gentle giant. I recall some toughs wandered into the local coffee shop where he was chatting with a couple of girls and decided to have a go at him. He put up his hand and said "Peace Brudder" - he had an 11 inch hand span and if he had used that on them it would not be pretty. They left him alone.

Hard to take Trump at his word when he is such a BS artist. I donlt think there woudl be any leader in the world today that thinks they can take Trump for his word.

How many Trump supporters does it take to change a light bulb? Zero. Trump says he changed it, and they sit in the dark and clap.

Quote Joe Scarsborough MSNBC host in 2016 :
Trump asked a foreign policy adviser three times about nuclear weapons "If we have them, why can't we use them ? "

What about his other promises ( threats ?) about annexing Greenland and Canada?

The crazy people in the USA are the 70 odd Americans who voted Trump into power knowing exactly what he is - that leopard is never changing his spots.
( though his hair has changed, still just as vain !!)
