Arab countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Egypt joined calls Tuesday for Hamas to disarm and end its rule of Gaza, in a bid to end the devastating war in the Palestinian territory.
Seventeen countries plus the European Union and Arab League threw their weight behind a seven-page text agreed at a United Nations conference on reviving the two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians.
“In the context of ending the war in Gaza, Hamas must end its rule in Gaza and hand over its weapons to the Palestinian Authority, with international engagement and support, in line with the objective of a sovereign and independent Palestinian State,” said the declaration.
It followed a call Monday by the Palestinian delegation at the United Nations for both Israel and Hamas to leave Gaza, allowing the Palestinian Authority to administer the coastal territory. . .
In stark contrast to that the UK, and several other countries further away from the war, are siding with Hamas:
A senior Hamas official has said that recognition of a Palestinian state by countries including the UK was a result of their actions on October 7.
Ghazi Hamed, a member of Hamas’ political bureau, said in an interview with Al Jazeera: “The initiative by several countries to recognize a Palestinian state is one of the fruits of October 7. We proved that victory over Israel is not impossible, and our weapons are a symbol of Palestinian dignity.” . .
Hamas started the war with the atrocities it carried out in Israel on October 7th.
It has continued to be in the wrong by its treatment of hostages, including forcing this man they starved to dig his own grave.
Horror for what is happening in Gaza and sympathy for the victims without acknowledging what Hamas did on October 7th and what it’s done since, including starvation and torture of hostages; and calling for a free Palestine without demanding the freeing of hostages, is siding with the terrorists and validating evil.

I agree 100%. Unfortunately the media, and hand wringing leftists from the leafy suburbs, have given the closet anti-Semites validation.
The 2-state 'solution' was never on the cards and certainly won't be now. Israel has clearly decided Gaza should remain unlivable. The plan they have announced is to herd the Palestinians into a giant camp and let them out in dribs and drabs as other countries accept them.
The “terrorists” are the Zionist settlers occupying Palestine. The Zionist ideology was founded in 1896 when Theodor Herzl formed the Zionist Organization and promoted Jewish immigration to Palestine in an effort to form a Jewish state. The Zionist occupying settlers have been committing atrocities on the semitic Palestinians since 1948. The Palestinians have been resisting occupation since 1917 when Britain conquered Palestine and created and signed the Balfour Declaration in support of a Jewish homeland to be established in Palestine.
The Palestinians have the right to self defence and a two-state solution given the bloodlust history (below) of the nuclear armed occupying Zionist settlers is “dreaming”.
