In a dramatic parallel, what happened in Canada at the beginning of this week has now been replicated in Australia at the end of the week.

An opposition that a few months ago had looked just possibly on track to dislodge the government, or at least run it close, has bombed spectacularly. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has lost his Queensland seat of Dickson, as did the Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre in Canada.

Australians took a great green gamble in the recent election.

Green millionaires and other left-wing activists supported slick campaigns promoting a gaggle of well-off women who won 6 seats in the leafy-green suburbs. Being rich blue-bloods with dark green policies they adopted Teal-coloured uniforms.

Dark Greens also grabbed some inner city electorates. The Liberal-National “conservatives” got their lowest vote for over 70 years, losing control of parliament. The left-wing ALP also got their lowest vote for over 70 years but won a slim majority in the lower house of federal Parliament.

Meantime, in Australia, although it isn't over, it looks like the tide has gone out on the Australian government. The tide always goes out on a government; it just depends on timing and competence.

That's trend one for us, the tide is going out on this government. It's not completely out, but the competence factor is playing a big part as more and more of us wake up to the ineptitude and lack of delivery. Not to mention the race and ideological aspects of their plans. All polls this year have the Government behind the opposition.
