In “Stuff” for 2nd July 2023 there appears a piece by one Gabrielle McCullough, entitled “Racist Propaganda; The undercover campaign to infiltrate school libraries.” Wow! “Undercover”? That’s good, since the weapons used in this alleged “campaign” were actually books!! Hard covers or soft??

These books were published by independent publisher, Tross, of Khandallah, Wellington. Librarian Julia Smith at one school was “shocked” to find that a teacher had bought a couple of Tross books which were already on her library shelves. As the Stuff article continues:

What do we make of this carry on with the Hurricanes rugby team and one of their owners Troy Bowker? Now regular listeners to this show will know of Troy Bowker. We’ve had him on here quite often because he’s a man of ideas and opinions. We’ve had him on here talking about the capital gains tax, the hypocrisy of electric vehicle manufacture and on allowing high net worth individuals to come and live in New Zealand as long as they bring a big chunk of their money. Opinions which I thought were eminently sensible.

He’s an entrepreneur, a type A personality who takes risks and has made a decent amount of money in his time, and along the way employed a good number of people. He’s the kind of guy who, in that respect, should be encouraged in our community.

We live in disquieting times when even some books of the marvellous children’s author and perceptive political cartoonist, the late Dr Seuss are being deplatformed. This is in keeping with a trend throughout the Western World to restrict or manipulate the flow of information, commentary and opinion. This movement now includes historical facts, perceptions and historical context.  

The intent seems to be to create a new world order by promoting a radical, anti-Western, anti-democracy ideology. This is being facilitated by the internet’s global reach and behaviours of international bureaucrats, the mass media, large corporates, law firms and those lacking critical thinking skills. Here in New Zealand, organisations enjoying government or council largesse are particularly prone to looking the other way – and their numbers are growing by the year.

Henry Armstrong: Racism in the New Zealand Health System

I begin this article with the conclusion I have reached on the above subject, which I would normally reserve for the final paragraph. My conclusion is quite simple. Our health system in New Zealand is NOT racist, as a host of academic, political and cultural activists so vociferously claim. 

Claims that our health system deliberately withholds treatment from our Maori people, are dishonest, untruthful and alarmist. What these activists claim as “systemic racism” can be easily illustrated, and dismissed, as failures in  socio-economic outcomes, NOT failures in our health system. Anyone, including myself, would understandably be outraged if our health system deliberately withheld appropriate treatment for ANY person in our New Zealand society, on the basis of their ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other political identity so favoured by these politicised activists.

This article is designed to illustrate just how dishonest these people (academics, cultural activists, politicians- and some highly-honoured New Zealanders) are, in their facetious claims.

It is reported in ‘newsroom” for 11/11/20 that the leaders of the Maori Party have said:

"From seeking to rebuild their communities – South Taranaki and eastern Bay of Plenty – from the ravages of land alienation. From lived memories of the brutal seizures in Taranaki, that the Waitangi Tribunal and former Māori Party co-leader Dame Tariana Turia called a holocaust, memories that still cut very deep."

This statement is such a distortion of the truth that it is all too reminiscent of the words of Nazi propaganda Minister Josef Goebbels – those Nazis actually responsible for the real holocaust. “Tell a big enough lie often enough,” said Hitler “and people will believe it.”

Stuff article: Waikato academic calls Endeavour a “death ship”

A Waikato University academic has labelled Captain James Cook's HMB Endeavour a "death ship".

Dr Arama Rata, a senior research fellow, said the arrival of the replica Endeavour represents a re-enactment of the invasion of Māori land.
