Last week’s revelation by National’s Minister of Maori Development Tama Potaka – a former member of the Maori Party - that “a new committee led by Adrian Rurawhe is working on formally integrating tikanga Maori into Parliament” has heightened public concern that the Coalition is failing to uphold its key election pledge to “Stop all work on He Puapua”.

This was a gathering of hundreds of mayors, chairs, chief executives, councillors and senior management from councils across the country, who had paid $1,500 plus travel and accommodation to attend this annual three-day shindig.
