Here is Garrick Tremain's cartoon commentary on old terms still relevant today!

I am alwys intrigued by the cartoonist depiction of old folks always on a sunken low couch. It seemed true of oldies when I (and Garrick) were young but now in that age group myself certainly not me or associates!

It depends a bit on SES , Robert. Just last week I visited a neighbour who is having economic struggles in her old age . She had furniture and decor from about 1960, wore slippers and beads and has a cat. Not everyone can afford to keep up with latest fashions. My father- in -law was very frugal and wore clothes out of the 1950s until he passed away in 2010. His motto was if it isn't worn out don't change it. Things were built to last after all, in those days. These folks had been through the Depression and He was completely oblivious to fashion.

On a more serious note the Ministry of Education which I think has some characteristics of a criminal organization because they are responsible for our frightful literacy standards. This is well known as the the cause of much criminal behaviour in our youth. We have ineffectual and unscientific teaching methods promoted by the Ministry.
