I’ll give him 3 to one odds that Labour will not be the next government. I suggest he endeavour to gather up monied supporters to back his claim for as many millions as he likes and I’m happy to deposit with a lawyer of his choice, three times what he can raise.
The problem he’ll face is finding such people as Mike will learn he’s possibly the only person in the country who doesn’t know the government is doomed.
Right now Luxon could rape a nun, that’s if he can find one, and while it would cost him votes, there’d still be a new government in October.
The issue is not whether Labour can win but rather, can they survive as a political party with the 20 to 25 ragtail MPs they’ll have left after the coming well-deserved thrashing.
A final comment: I can remember every election since 1949 and can adamantly say that none were such fore-gone conclusions as this one. Nor was there such wide-spread anger, notably over their principal legacy of creating a racist society. This will take a long time to repair.
Add to that their outrageously irresponsible spending and a whole bevy of other outrages.
They will be recorded as the worst government in our country’s history.

The question is: can this ever be repaired through reasonable negotiations
and to banish He Pua Pua forever?
Or: has the situation deteriorated too far too fast - and there will be a fight to the death not to cede ground?

Cannot disagree with you Bob, but there is one huge problem. Luxon will just carry on from where Labour leaves off. He has rejected ACT's idea of a referendum on co-governance, he very strongly supports net zero by 2050, his idea of removing 3 waters is to replace it with a watered down version (excuse the pun) of it etc. etc.
Here is my prediction ---Simon Bridges said after Ardern's captain's call on oil and gas exploration that National would re-instate it. As far as I know National has not changed their stance on that, BUT I predict once he is in the PM's chair Luxon will keep Ardern's policy, even though O&G could be one of the few options to help get NZ's finances back on track.
Luxon is too busy learning te reo to be worried about equality and what the majority of New Zealanders want. Kiwialan.
Bob is very perceptive and esp in matters political. He predicted all months ago. He identifies public concerns at racist developments despite this having been largely concelaed by the fear of camncellation (to which he is by no means immune). The ballot box is the first real opportunity for the public to make their views apparent.
Alas I see, that the esteemed Sir Robert Jones, has been both -
- using that telescope, in his office, point at the "big granite building"
- enabling his "listening devices" around the city of Wellington, other than in the Mayor's office
- using his "reputable crystal ball" to - again - focus on both the here and now 9and recent past) and also into the future.
Who is going to disagree with any thing He writes, which is sound in knowledge & thought.
NZ, 2016 - forthcoming General Election, I am sure if the walls could speak, you would have found that Labour, under the potential Leadership of Andrew Little, was not going to "cut the mustard" with the voting Public. So, "a new face" had to be found and who else but the "suddenly appointed" Deputy Leader - Jacinda Ardern. If you want proof that Little was on the way out, re-visit the interview he had with Jack Tame - said it all.
Only problem, that many within Labour "possibly" knew that Ms Ardern did not have the necessary qualifications to lead. I wonder if Mr. Mike Williams was one of them. I am sure Helen Clark would have known. But, they needed "a fresh face to lead the mob" and sadly NZ responded in kind.
I also "wonder" where Mr. Mike Williams was during the years 2017 -2020 when it became obvious that "the Leadership from the 9th Floor (Beehive) was lacking". Oh the other thing Mr Williams, I thought the Senior Party General Office sanctioned & confirmed Leadership change, not the Politicians - sorry the 2 or was it 3 that made that decision.

Bob, I hope you are right mate. However these lefties can not be trusted so watch this space. I think they are trying to promote a 'everything is ok' front. What i cant believe is that even after the destruction of the last few years there are still close on 30% of this country that thinks they are doing a good job....lunitics! Even if you were to lose Bob, I'm sure many would chip in and help you out supposing l there is going to be anyone left in this country other than unemployed criminals and pensioners!.
