Maori traditon was to raid shipwrecks and compound the misfortune. It led to much hardship and not a few deaths for shipwrecked early explorers who had been so remiss as to not steep themselves in tikanga. It will be intersting to see how the Labour ship fares. At least one maori mp has deserted in mere anticipation.
As far as Labour is concerned, the Sinatra standard 'The Party's Over' comes to mind. They have betrayed our country, including their traditional voter base.
