David Farrar: There seems to be a pattern

1. Claimed that James Shaw asked her to run for Wellington Central (He didn’t)

2. Claimed that she was paying over half her Councillor salary in rent for one out of five bedrooms in Aro Valley (She wasn’t)

4. Claimed that Downtown Community Mission has complained to the Police about police officers throwing away possessions of homeless people (They hadn’t)

5. Claimed that someone was in prison for shoplifting a $12 item (This is basically impossible as under $500 is maximum three months which would get home detention)

This is of course all the work of the Green Party Police and Corrections Spokesperson, Tamatha Paul. I think it is fair to conclude that there is a pattern.

David Farrar runs Curia Market Research, a specialist opinion polling and research agency, and the popular Kiwiblog where this article was sourced. He previously worked in the Parliament for eight years, serving two National Party Prime Ministers and three Opposition Leaders.

Too stupid to know she is stupid
How did the voters in Wellington first vote her to Council and then to Parliament with an impressive majority

Perhaps she was that "mystery party" present on one of her former colleague's retail adventures? As you say, 'there's a pattern', and idioms regarding leopards & spots and birds of a feather, do come to mind.

But, that aside, as an elected representative, her actions are supposedly a reflection of 'her people' - um? It also seems that she still has the support of her colleagues - again, um? And what is the bet that that steadfast cohort of the public will continue backing the Greens, irrespective of their individual foibles involving minor things like honesty and truth?

In plain language, TP is a LIAR!

Great collection of her public utterances and the real facts. Thanks.

Anon@9.28 Forrest Gump summed it well: "Stupid is as stupid does..." And, those Wellingtonians also voted for Tory Whanau. They got what they deserved?

Tamatha Paul is bringing to central government the incompetence and disfunction of the Wellington City Council. But the fact that other Greens support her shows that their problem is wider than Wellington.

NZ has been going through an out with the old and in with the new period...party because they were not happy with the old anymore than they are with the new.....this is probably why Jabcinda got in in the first place. Hopefully people are starting to see that that the old worked much better and maybe we should go back to there and work on that lot instead because at least they were not completely stupid and had experience.

What she says is aimed at her voter base and they will lap it up and she will be re elected

Maori youth fib to talk there way out of trouble and it becomes a life habit. Being indoctrinated with folklore much of which is very adapted or contrived, and the constant repeat of false purely rhetorical pro maori political slogans, along with a distorted account of history and constant reinterpretation of the Treaty develops an instinctive behaviour of falsehood.

Just trying to get media inches and that is working.

Typical far left lying lunatic. Absolutely perfect for the greens and WCC.
