Trump Demands “Nothing Less than Complete Surrender” and Vows a “Real End” to Iran’s Nuclear Programme
President Donald Trump has demanded a “complete give-up” by Iran and a “real end” to its nuclear programme, as speculation mounts that the US will join the conflict despite resistance from some senior officials. The Mail has more.
“I’m not looking for a ceasefire, we’re looking at better than a ceasefire,” Trump told reporters as he landed back in the US from a G7 summit in Canada. The President added he was looking for “an end, a real end, not a ceasefire”.
Trump last night refused to sign a joint statement with fellow G7 leaders calling for de-escalation in the conflict before storming out of the summit, saying he had to get back to Washington early “for obvious reasons”.
Speaking from Air Force One, he then furiously denied claims made by French President Emmanuel Macron that he was heading back to work on a ceasefire, calling his counterpart “publicity seeking” and a “nice guy” but one who “doesn’t get it right too often”.
He said that Israel had no intention of stopping its offensive, telling reporters: “The Israelis aren’t slowing up their barrage on Iran. … You’re going to find out over the next two days. You’re going to find out. Nobody’s slowed up so far.”
Meanwhile Israeli media reported that the US is preparing to join an attack on Iran “if President Donald Trump gives the green light”.
An unidentified official told i24 News that “US Central Command thinks it should join, but there are senior officials in the administration who are currently opposing the move”.
Washington is seemingly gearing up for confrontation in the Middle East, with a carrier strike group and three destroyers in the Arabian Sea and the USS Nimitz expected to arrive in the region in the coming days.
Trump earlier called for the “immediate evacuation of Tehran” and branded Iran “foolish” for not signing a deal with the US on its nuclear programme before Israeli strikes began.
It comes as the war between the arch foes enters its fifth day and Israel ramps up attacks aimed at destroying Iran’s contested nuclear work.
Earlier this morning, Israel announced that it had assassinated Iran’s wartime chief of staff, the closest official to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, just days after his predecessor was killed in strikes.

The BBC reports that Trump is insisting on 'unconditional surrender'. This would mean allowing Israel to invade and occupy Iran if they chose to do so.
Even the word 'surrender' by itself is too strong a term to use for what would amounts to agreeing to a ceasefire.
I do wish people would choose their words more carefully. Communication would become a lot more meaningful!
It is interesting to follow the changing loyalties of those countries that had previously described Trump as a destructive idiot endangering world peace.
The G7 meeting in Canada saw the publishing of a communique’ featuring two references to the Iranian regime and it was written without the signature of the President of the US. It was all their own work.
One clause stated that Iran was the major sponsor of terror in the region and the other repeated Trump’s emphatic statement that Iran should never be allowed access to a nuclear weapon.
It shows just how much the world has changed under the second Trump administration. It also confirms the old adage that a week in politics is a very long time.
Returning to the G7 summit.
Notice how the members of the second tier G20 including the hapless Albanese all flocked to Canada in search of a private meeting with Trump in order to do trade deals that would be made based primarily on the US terms. Yet only the UK’s Prime Minister Starmer was able to achieve that objective in the brief time Trump was there although many will be talking about trade deals as soon as it becomes a high priority for the US President once again.
In the meantime, his attention is required trying to sort out the Iranians before he is forced to engage with the B2 bombers that are alone capable of taking out the one remaining threat to world peace.
The fact that the MSM are still misreporting the truth about the wars in Gaza and between Israel and Iran is simply a reflection of a world wide recognition by friend and foe alike that Trump stands alone as the key to world peace. The rest of the observers and commentators are totally irrelevant and will remain so until they admit their deliberate mischaracterisation of Trump has been wrong from the start.
My guess is that some of my own personal detractors will be rushing to add their own irrational comments to Dr Will Jones’s well written piece - no doubt using the opportunity to once again paint me as a Trump lover.
It bothers me not at all given the facts suggest they have become irrelevant bystanders in this series of events that will probably be looked upon in years to come as a critical time in history when “cometh the hour, cometh the man” becomes an accurate description of the times.
That will be the appropriate time for the “Trump haters” to crawl back under their rocks having been exposed as pathetic self styled historians of no consequence.
In the meantime, let’s wait and see what happens next.
