JC: Where Are the Real World Leaders?

If World War III were to break out, then God help the planet. You wouldn’t need to worry about climate change because there wouldn’t be much left to worry about.

Most of the world leaders today are wimps who spout the nonsense of de-escalation. Tell me what that is going to achieve…nothing – apart from putting off the inevitable day of reckoning. That day will come, if not now, then at some point in the future. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naïve.

De-escalation is neither a game changer nor a problem solver. Rather, it allows the current situation in any given conflict to remain and most probably exacerbate with no end in sight. If no spine is shown by leaders and no determination to remove the cause of the problem then the problem cannot be resolved. All that is achieved is the means to sit and wait for history to repeat itself by witnessing yet another atrocity.

Anyone who thinks de-escalation will prevent further October 7s is dreaming. As long as the likes of Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthis are allowed to exist there will be further terrorist attacks for the foreseeable future. Common sense tells you this, so why do so many leaders and politicians think de-escalation is an answer. Plainly it isn’t. They need to go and look at their history books.

This is precisely why Israel is doing what it is, not just for themselves but for world peace. While terrorist groups are allowed to exist there will be a continuing threat to peace. In the Middle East these groups exist for one reason only and that is the extermination of the Jewish people and they will continue to commit atrocities until they achieve this .

The main perpetrator of all the violence is Iran which funds the terrorists. They are seeking to become a nuclear power too. And if that were not enough evil, they have for decades denied their people basic human rights and forced them to live in fear. Again, tell me how de-escalation solves any of these problems. The regime has to be removed and, as well as destroying their nuclear ambitions, this is what Israel is aiming for.

Like the ayatollahs in Iran, who have scant regard for their people, so Hamas don’t give a damn about the Palestinians in Gaza. Hamas exist, not for them, but solely to bring about the extermination of the Jews. That is all they are interested in. They do absolutely nothing for the people stupid enough to put them in power. Like the Iranians who cannot rise up against their regime neither can those Palestinians who would prefer a better life.

These people’s lives are being made a misery by those who rule over them. Israel may not be entirely blameless but it is far too easy for them to be used as a whipping boy. It’s actions now are the most positive moves by anyone to root out terrorism and bring about world peace since World War II. And this brings me back to the weak leadership that is all too evident.

Take yourself back and imagine if Winston Churchill had adopted the same mindset as today’s leaders. I suggest the war could well have ended very differently. Weak leadership, which is what the world is witnessing, is simply playing into the hands of the enemy. Trump, whom I do not regard as a weak leader, allowed himself to be played by Putin thinking he was the answer to getting a deal in the war with Ukraine. In my view that was naïve. Putin has no intention to end the war as Trump is now realising.

If he and other leaders are not careful they will be made chumps of yet again by Iran. There is talk Iran wants a ceasefire, simply another term for de-escalation. Of course they do: this is their game; play for time while everyone is back over the teacups talking with them trying to get a deal. If a deal was reached, does anyone with even half a brain expect them to abide by it? Of course they won’t – they’ll just continue on their merry way developing their nuclear capabilities and funding their proxies.

The naïveté of today’s leaders amazes me. It is quite obvious none have lived through a war or they might think somewhat differently. Israel is forever on a war footing and is probably the only nation that has a real understanding of how threats need to be handled and dealt to. As I said earlier, it’s all too easy for us in safe havens to criticise them but if you were in their situation you might have a different perspective.

So Israel must finish the job it has started by, as far as possible, eliminating the terrorist organisations, eliminating Iran’s nuclear threat and eliminating the regime. If that means taking out the leadership then so be it. The Ayatollah is probably not going to pay us the compliment of removing himself as Hitler did. The Iranian people deserve to have the same rights and freedoms as most other people enjoy.

If America has to get involved, not with boots on the ground but in providing the necessary military equipment, then that should happen: it would be a quick go in, execute and get out. For the moment Trump is avoiding this option as he believes the threat of American involvement will be enough to get Iran to the negotiating table for complete compliance in regard to their nuclear intentions.

If world leaders aren’t brave enough take the steps required to end conflicts in whatever way necessary then they will be played by the terrorists for the fools they are. As of now, there are far too many Neville Chamberlains around for my liking. It’s a fact: those who ignore history are bound to repeat it.
