David Round: Thoughts for our Time - Article 6

Diversity, we have long been assured is our greatest strength. The more diversity there is, the better. We actually boast about our cultural diversity. We rejoice every time another bedraggled group of refugees arrives here, because this increases the number of cultures we have in this country (as if a wrecked fragment of some other people constitutes a valid living ‘culture’). The more the merrier!

That was, after all, why we needed a new flag ~ to express our diversity. Never mind that a flag expressing diversity is a contradiction in terms. A flag has to express one idea, and say what we all hold in common. A flag of ‘diversity’ would have to be a flag of many completely different unrelated little squares on the same fabric.

Diversity, after all, is difference. That is what the word means. The more diversity there is, the more difference. Therefore the less we have in common. That is obvious, surely.

Well, it may be obvious to us, but only gradually are slow glimmerings of the obvious beginning to dawn on the dimwitted guardians and projectors of our state ideology. Recently, they have started to express their concerns that ‘social cohesion’ is being frayed.

Who would have thought? After many years of promoting difference and division they are now surprised that we are facing...difference and division!

The fraying of social cohesion is the direct and inevitable consequence of social difference. Of diversity. Thanks to the relentless ongoing promotion of diversity we are now living among people with whom we have less and less in common. This is what diversity is. Diversity IS the loss of social cohesion.

A child of five could tell you this. The fact that this is only now slowly dawning on our ‘intellectual’ class simply reveals once more what complete morons they are. If they did know it all along, of course, they should be classified not as fools but as liars. Fools or rogues ~ I see no other choice.

I can guess their proposed solution, however ~ lectures and laws. Indoctrination, from early childhood onwards, by nice caring bossy persons, about how important it is to be nice to everyone; especially those people of different ethnicities, cultures, faiths, sexualities, genders ~ and not forgetting, of course, our Treaty obligations! And if lectures are not enough, laws will follow. They are following already. In the United Kingdom Keir Starmer is releasing murderers and rapists early from prisons to make room for people who write unkind tweets about predatory strangers. This will be our future too.

Variety is the spice of life; but a spice is only an exciting flavour; it cannot be the staple, the bread and potatoes of existence. One cannot live on nutmeg alone.

I do not see that there is anything racist or objectionable about just wanting to feel at home in ones own country; to feel, in fact, that it is our country. That we live among people who are indeed our ‘fellows’ ~ people more or less like ourselves. That we are, in fact, embedded in an organic and genuine community. Community is not just a sign put up by a council official at the public library, it has to be a fact ~ something achieved by long cohabitation and mutual experience. It is perfectly natural and reasonable to want to be comfortable in ones own life, and to object to endless lectures from sanctimonious finger-waggers about our duty to strangers.

(And, of course, in a ‘Post-Modern’ age when we all have our own truths, and one is as good as the other, who are these people to tell us what we should and should not think and do?)

As you may be aware, the British Home Office disagrees. It has identified ‘cultural nationalism’ as a species of ‘extreme right wing terrorist ideology’. And ‘cultural nationalism ‘ is the belief that Western culture ~ which it puts in quotation marks, as though it does not actually exist ~ ‘is under threat from mass migration and a lack of integration by certain ethnic and cultural groups’.

The British government, in other words, has declared war on its own people. Oppose that mass migration of strangers into your own country, and you are not just insular or old-fashioned, you are a xenophobic terrorist. The police and the courts will deal with you. The civil war which looms ahead for Britain and other European countries ~ Ireland? France? Sweden? Germany? ~ that war has already started. The prophecy of the Roman poet is repeating itself ~ the blood of citizens is already staining the Thames and the Seine.

All over the Western world our ruling class is determined to destroy what is left of its own civilisation. The urge to self-destruction is generally considered a sign of serious mental illness.

To be continued…
