David Farrar: A good poll for the Government

The latest 1 News – Verian poll is very good for the Government. The party vote is:

  • National 36%
  • ACT 10%
  • NZF 9%
  • CR 55%
---------------
  • Labour 35%
  • Greens 7%
  • TPM 1%
  • CL 43%
So a whopping 12% lead on the party vote. This would give the Government 67 seats – the same as it got at the last election.

Also of importance is net economic optimism or confidence. The last poll it was at -3% and now it is at +12% – a net 15% improvement.

Also of interest was a poll question on whether the TPM co-leaders should go. Only 33% of Maori say they should stay and 45% say they should go. Of course they are not the real co-leaders. They are effectively the co-deputy leaders, and Tamihere is the real leader.

David Farrar runs Curia Market Research, a specialist opinion polling and research agency, and the popular Kiwiblog where this article was sourced. He previously worked in the Parliament for eight years, serving two National Party Prime Ministers and three Opposition Leaders

Labour 35 percent!!! What is wrong with these people. These lunatics are welcome to experiencing the results of the far left. Let's send these people to a basket case regime...., I know Palestine or Nigeria or somewhere like that. Let's hope their 'education ' enables them to grow up and see the light of how evil left regimes and policies are to the people.

Just proves polls are unreliable. The Greens have done reasonably well in recent weeks with no apparent scandals like the regular train wrecks that have been evident with them since the last election, yet they are (fortunately) now strangely (finally) polling lower? It seems they need these scandals to keep them noticed. As for those voting Labour - clearly that's just representative of the amount of suckers in the population that believe in 'something for nothing', not realising they're paying dearly for it, all the while lining the pockets of a select few.

If only the Labour voters could be given a tour (or permanent occupation of) Pol Pot’s Cambodia, Mao’s China, Stalin’s USSR, maybe a few might re-consider their views?
