Sir Bob Jones: Trump Trumped

Trump is a world-class ignoramus.

Prior to taking office in January, he claimed he’d sort out the Ukraine situation on day one. On that undertaking Putin played him like a fiddle.

Meanwhile his tariffs proposition have left global money markets in turmoil. He dismisses that now, after the event, as “medicine”, necessary to “reform” the system.

God knows where it will all end, possibly with an assassin’s bullet.

Better still, hopefully common sense prevails. Mankind has enjoyed numerous periods of prosperity, unprecedented in human history, thanks entirely to the post-war 21st century’s evolvement of international trade specialisation.

That golden era is now over alas as tariff walls are being erected everywhere.

Here in New Zealand, we are mere spectators watching the unravelling of the global market system in its early stages. We enjoy geographic immunity from the world’s trouble-spots and should keep our heads down and remain aloof.

Sir Bob Jones is a renowned author, columnist , property investor, and former politician, who blogs at No Punches Pulled HERE - where this article was sourced.

Disgusted with you Sir Bob.
I gave you the benefit for being passionate about many issues.
But I do not condone your comment about assassination of a democratically elected leader.
You have sunk to the lowest level with that question.
Your words are seen by many people, and I would have expected you to have been more responsible in your choice of language.
Is this example of vitriol and hatred what you have now become?

It’s beyond my comprehension that an article calling for the assassination of the President of the United States has been allowed to be published on this forum.

I don't see anyone "calling for the assassination" of Trump here.
Remember someone already had a crack at him - and this is Amurrica where an established way of communicating with a politician you don't like is to blow them away.

Since the topic has come up, Jones' reference to assassination is more on the money than he realises: politicians are never killed by "lone nuts" acting irrationally (which is always the official lie), they are instead victims of the combined efforts of those whose interests are most threatened by the targeted politician.

You know Trump's policies are good simply by looking at who objects the loudest, in this case, people from across the fake left/right spectrum, people like Bob Jones who is likely heavily invested in the mostly make believe and largely unproductive stock markets that are supposedly the losers regarding Trump's America First tariffs.

It has been very disturbing to observe how the world's greatest industrial power and technological leader from 1850s to about 1970s has contracted. Incredible expansion was achieved during WW2 but from a well established base. The ability to repeat seems very limited and in a modern war too slow. If Trump can restore some of former ability will be great, but the upper and middle classes may have to experience a considerable drop in effective wealth. It is absurd that the once great advanced country now trades soya beans for manufactured items both low and high tech.

Trump is lucky that in USA he does not have the equivalent of the Waitangi Tribunal and a large population of trace mixed breeds who inherit a culture of utu and a violent disposion, and who choose to identify separately. Being America, he would need a permanent bulletproof cage.

Interesting comment from Eschaton about one can tell about a good policy by looking at those who object the loudest (words to that effect). That is precisely why ACT's TOW Principles Bill is good legislation! Those who are squealing and yelling the loudest are those who see their gravy train coming to a shuddering halt and will go to any length to keep it rolling on.
