In this episode (below) the Anglo Saxon focusses on the Maori Health Authority and Maori Health providers, highlighting the extreme costs to the taxpayer.
The Anglo Saxon includes excerpts from a Q&A programme with Jack Tame interviewing Willie Jackson on Labours stance on the Maori Health Authority. It’s amazing, Jackson simply spouts gibberish. I think I have seen more sense come out of the mouth of a ventriloquists dummy, without the ventriloquist!
Tame tries to tie Willie down on whether Labour will reinstate the Maori Health Authority. Willie says “…we haven’t decided.” Tame counters with “…10 weeks out from an election and Labour hasn’t decided?”
According to Willie, Maori health providers claim they “…don’t get equity”, “…the government just feed them crumbs” And then, of course, here come the hands out for more money. “Maori health providers want more devolvement”, “they want more resources”, “…they want more FUNDING.”
Jackson’s most outrageous claim is, “we’re living off the smell of an oily rag.”

Jackson’s pathetic “oily rag” narrative is an outright deception. That supposed pittance amounted to a staggering $529.8 million in 2019/20, ballooning to $999.8 million by 2023/24—a massive 88.7% surge of $469.9 million. Appallingly, the bleeding doesn’t stop there; it climbed to a monstrous $1.093 billion in taxpayer funding during the 2024/25 financial year.
One has to wonder: how much is ever enough for this bottomless pit? The reality is clear, taxpayers could never empty their pockets fast enough to satisfy them! So long as a weak-willed, foolish governments continue to pump astronomical sums into the pockets of the, so called, Maori elite and their families, the demands will only intensify.
That Chris Luxon, Simeon Brown, and Tama Potaka complacently stand by and permit this relentless laundering of taxpayer cash to Maori health providers, where some executives are reportedly pocketing eye watering $500,000 salaries is nothing short of gross financial ineptitude!
