Misogynistic fixation on Trump Aide highlights NZ's biased media's agenda - deflection to US domestic politics whilst ignoring NZ's divisive race issue

CNN's decision to go after Trump's executive assistant, Natalie Harp, who travelled with him in a decoy plane to avoid an assassination attempt, with sleazy overtones, was quickly picked up by their little cousins in NZ who will loyally print anything to tarnish Trump. They don't do investigative journalism when Trump, or New Zealand's political right, is involved.

My ability to quote famous poetry usually amounts to only one line of a piece that has retained relevance for mankind over time. I wish it were better than that.

JC: We Live In an Unhinged World

Today’s world is not only unhinged but is becoming increasingly dangerous. It is now not uncommon to hear from some in high places that ‘We are closer to World War III than we have ever been before.’ There are many reasons for this: political ideology, political leadership, terrorism, foreign aggression, the media and the breakdown of society, which seems a good place to start.

JC: Basking in the Sun and Howling at the Moon

There are two sides to the current prime minister. There’s the Christopher Luxon at home and the Christopher Luxon abroad and they are two different persona. The overseas version is a relaxed figure in complete control, in his element if you like. His trips abroad are successful ventures and he impresses other people of note with whom he has dialogue. He is representing New Zealand well on the world stage. It is his moment in the sun. He exudes a sunny temperament basking in the importance of it all.
