Once again, race-based policies are rearing their divisive head in New Zealand’s public institutions, this time at the University of Auckland. ACT MP Dr Parmjeet Parmar has called out the university over a job listing that appears to blatantly breach the Human Rights Act 1993 by explicitly requiring applicants to be of Māori descent.

I was made aware that Health New Zealand recently sent an
email to its staff as follows:
"We encourage everyone to incorporate karakia daily. To help support you with this we have created some pre-recorded videos to learn karakia. Our resource is designed to give you some options that will enable you to learn and develop your confidence and skills. Note over time we will be adding more recordings for you to choose from."

Lindsay Mitchell: More racial discrimination looming in the health sector

Free, that is, to Maori and Pacific women (or to use Te Whatu Ora’s terminology, “people with a cervix”), those with a community services card, and those who have never been screened or not within the last five years.
Te Whatu Ora claims the new initiative is about improving access.
